My kids sleep on stretchers with a thin mattress on top. Each morning the underside of the mattress is damp. I know why but stopping it would be nice.
Would a thin piece of plastic between the stretcher and mattress do the job?

If its raining we throw plastic over the top of our matress and it stops that clammy moist feeling it gets, it could work
that will protect the stretcher, make sure the mattress's are completely dry to start of with.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
That's no different to mattress on floor of tent, needs airflow under mattress to stop or maybe a polatec blanket under mattress. Either way it needs airing every morning, the jayco did the same thing under the beds.

I found that self inflating matress helped stop the moisture between the stretcher and matress
We put foam floor mats (like these) under our mattress in the camper, seems to have stopped the moisture problem we where having. If you have some, give it a try.

On the mattress, kids can pee while they sleep and it won't soak through
we uses these on the kids beds at home, for those just in case moments
