my 05 gu has a oil i think smell comming from engine bay been there for a year no loss of power same if towing van or not any clues out there thanks.

Look Under the engine cover , no idea what engine you have so that would be great info.
Anyway I'm thinking that maybe your intercooler is leaking oil over the top of motor and onto turbo.
Needs heaps more info please

top of engine does have oil there will clean off see what happens. thanks 3dgs.

If you take it to a car wash soak it with engine degreaser, don't pull the trigger as the water will be too strong.
gently as you go, it should shift the dirt/muck easy enough. You can drive without engine cover with no problems
