The master farter
Would seem easier just to make a stopper of some sort on the gear shift to stop the drivers selecting those gears. Wouldn't be too hard to make....

My guess is that with all the extra time mine drivers would have, they would find a way to get them to work. Like taking out the stopper under the accelerator pedal or pushing down on the hand throttle used to give a few extra kms speed in older vehicles.

Dribble Master
Some are actually manually locked in 4 low with some god awful looking hefty locking device, not chance getting it off unless you burn or cut it off .......... will try to remember to ask me mate who works on these vehicles

And even if it was bypassed, there are speed checks?

Enjoying the trips
A few years back Steinbauer were making a detuned chip for mine spec diesel V8 Tojo's.
They were too powerful in the mine site areas and OH&S stepped in requesting the mod.
You would think the OH&S blokes would simply ping them for speeding!!!???!!!
Cheers

But they might have been doing a powerslide/drifting sideways at less than the speed limit?

Hi miller12
Your mine site patrol is an underground vehicle. they lock out 4th and 5th as you're not allowed to drive in those gears. Also vehicle has to be in low range at all times.
