GU11 dual fuel economy
We have just purchased a 2001 patrol and are just curious as to normal economy on gas in the 4.5 litre.i drove 415 km on the freeway at 110kmh and it returned 22ltres per 100ks which in my eyes is not to shabby really. At present prices here(55c per litre)$12 per hundred ish is fine but im curious to know if it can be improved. The wagon is stock and in very good nick but has not been used or tuned for three years due to last owners illness.there was no head or tail wind to adjust for and the freeway was slightly undulating and cruise was used.I did an oil change but not air filter etc before trial.cheers danny

WOW 72c a litre wouldn't be putting it in, gas kills cars. My last 4x4 was dual fuel and 400-450ks out of 90lt fill sounds about right. can't lean it off gets too hot'
Sequential injection probably most efficient I would think. Plus no difference with mine 4x4ing or touring and it was a V8
All your electrics need to be spot on, plugs etc do filters etc she'll fly

Best I've managed on the freeway with gas was 20L/100km, I was being very gentle with the pedals though. 22 is normal. Petrol I have managed to get 16L/100km, usually closer to 18ish on the highway.
Around town, expect figures around 25L/100km, petrol about 22-23.

I'm getting roughly 18L/100k mixed city/freeway on petrol in my 4.5 but i just reset the timing, idle speed and readjusted the TPS so i have to do my calculations again but best i ever got was 14.4L/100k but that was all highway driving.

Probably should mention I have just replaced my air flow sensor and a lot of other maintenance in the past few months, but don't have any figures after all the work yet.

You can do that or run 1 full tank of petrol after every 3 tanks of LPG. That should be enough unless you want to alternate between the two fuels which will be alot better for the motor, just depends what you can afford.
