Which Tyre Size is best
Fitting new rubber to the Patrol. Present tyres are 275/65R17, rims 17 x 8 with 10mm offset and 2" suspension lift. Looking to fit Cooper ST-Maxx but their only 17" rims sizes are 265/70R17 & 285/70R17
My two questions are;
1/ which size is best ?
2/ will the 285's cause reduced clearance?
Will be very thankful for opinions & advice.

Dribble Master
Go the 285s mate, I presume you have a GU....... you've got plenty of space in those wheel arches to take larger rubber plus it will give you a bit more diff clearance

Patrol God
x2 285's or 33's basically the same size probably the most used and best size really for a patrol.

Hi Coogs,
I just had the Cooper ST Maxx 285/70R17 tyres put on my 2012 GU today, and they feel great on the road and do fill out the wheel arches nicely giving the car that nice beefy look with out being extreme.

Hi John B. .... Thks for your response. I'm matching Patrol & camper (2011 Tvan Murranji) wheels and tyres. Have the 285's had any efffect (reduced?) on your suspension clearance?

Hi Coogs & Steveo_the_Devo, my sincerest apologies for not having responded to your questions sooner gentlemen. This is the first time I've been back on this forum for a while.
Coogs I found a little bit of scrubbing when I had the steering at full left look but had no effect on the suspension other than the tyres giving me a little bit of additional lift. I recently had a full 2" OME suspension lift done and I get no scrubbing at all and very good suspension clearance.
Steveo, I actually traded the original tyres over on the car when I first bought the Patrol. From memory, I think the tyres were about $450 each fitted and balanced, however I only paid $300 per tyre.
Cheers
John
