Just want to know if I need to change anything on my 4.5 Y61 before I put 35" mud terrain tyres on?

Not much man, depending on the offset of your rims the tyres might remove your mud flaps and rub a little on the inside of the wheel arch, but oh well. You can fix this with some extended bump-stops.

You don't actually need a lift to fit the 35's inside the guard, It will however make for a better set-up though. The lift only aids in giving you articulation in your suspension set-up. The up-travel is purely governed by the bump stop.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
