hand brake light
my handbrake light stays on all the time 90 model wagon td 42 ,
anyone got ant ideas what to look for ?

Sounds like its just the switch - assuming its a normal drum handbrake on the drive shaft ... switch I think is under the centre console mate on the bottom of the handbrake arm itself but others may be able to assist ...

If brake fluid level and the switch are all ok and light still on, there's a vacuum switch on the left handside of the alternator with a small vacuum hose connected to it from the vacuum pump at the back of the alternator, if the vacuum hose is damage or leak or sometimes the switch itself is faulty it will sense there is no vacuum and the light will on too..

Check that the little metal tab that pushes the switch down on the handbrake lever hasn't broken off. If it has the brake warning light will stay on because the switch is still on (in closed circuit)

i have had the tab break on me but more then likely brake fluid is low
