That's probably not a bad idea. It took me quite a bit of time and effort getting that cable through the firewall.

I used a similar fuse panel from Jaycar in the rear of my GU when I did my dual battery install.
Here are some pics of where I located it in the rear cargo access panel on the passenger side....
