for aux/deepcycle have a look at the Itechworld batteries, they are designed for underbonnet use
for cranking, stick to lead acid
IMO, not the timing chain. Sound is intermittent. I recently replaced my timing chain, the tensioner has a LOT of spring pressure against the chain.
I'd be surprised if it were exhaust manifold,...
No, probably 3-4 times a year. I enjoy watching dirty oil come out and putting clean stuff in. It's like mowing grass, or burning wood, very satisfying.
Anyone else love servicing their vehicle?
Going over my service intervals for the time I've had the patrol...

Definitely if you've got the time, working on your own vehicle and figuring it out for yourself is the way to go.
They really are easy motors to work on, heaps of space in the...
Good point. The earth is probably the most overlooked asset of any vehicle.
Very nicely done, well above my pay grade
Welcome! Do you have a pic of your Dirty Datto?

Don't buy it...

And a nightmare sifting through everything looking for the info you're looking for
I have the Haynes repair manual and it doesn't list the crankshaft cap specs per se, I would go with something...
Welcome!
How many kms on it? Keen to see photos
My best effort was Kelmscott WA to Yungaburra FNQ in 4 day and 5hrs. No alcohol. No drugs. Plenty of sleep. When I'd get fuel I'd fill a couple of jerry cans, when I'd stop for a piss I'd tip the...
I've always been led to believe they were different.
Some people call Magpie Larks; Peewees and Silvergulls; Seagulls.
I don't get your point? Both links we shared shows ravens and crows as...
JV mechanical might be worth contacting, I follow them on fb, they're always doing something interesting to customer cars
As for feasibility, I dunno. I thought the 2.8 was a good motor. The diff...
what did you replace it with?
