get it closed as high as you can, and a couple stitches with builders string/fishing line/heavy cotton, so the zipper can't go above the damaged teeth...mattress needle or sacking/darning needle do...

Mine are on ~6-monthy. No idea on KMs. they get done when they need it.

Fresh injectors never go amiss, but they should last a bit longer than that I do mine every quarter million KM, obviously make sure all fuel filters are clear and flowing (if they kept the same pump...
