Done! There were six black plastic screws hidden in under the foam. Once peeled away, it was a matter of popping them out and all good.

Back on topic, I feel like a bit of a Noob as I cannot for love or money find where the nuts underneath are to take the metal brace off... The foam seal isn't glued over the top of it is it?

Just wondering where you purchased and for how much? They seem to be comparable to Recaro and a cheaper alternative.

Hold function also works well in low range 4WD for the same reasons. Longer torque range on that gear. The alternative is to use your auto gears like a clutchless manual, which is what I tend to do...
