Hi, I have done a 5th gear replacement, and no you cant do it in the vehicle. You have to remove and replace the main shaft as well. It is an annoing job.

I didnt tee into any vacuum lines. None seemed to give a good reading so I brazed an elbow into thepipe on the inter cooler. It works good.

I my experience, this problem is usually the gear oil. You need to use a GL4 code oil, not a GL5. Most motor shops will sell you the GL5. It will destroy your syncros quite quickly. VMX80 is a good...

Hi Timbo, Redarc do a fairly simple one to install. Still needs some skill though. Ex Coventrys I think.
