I found this site read the section on cam profiles

Sure A solid-lifter cam has acceleration ramps that take up the valve clearance gradually, then start lifting the valve. By running the hydraulics, you've effectively increased the duration of the...

Imo I would just do the lifters easy to do and valve set is not a big drama only because if you use hyd lifters you change the duration of the cam moving your power band up the rpm range also you...

too much fuel and low boost are the only things I can think of,,

Ok it dose sound like you are down on power have you had it dynoed after rebuild could still be cam timing even a bad valve set can raise EGTs maybe re do the valve clearance

Fitting hyd lifters will change the the time the valves are open with solid lifters you have a valve clearance of say 0.20 to 0.30mm hyd.lifters have zero valve clearance you may not feel this as you...

As suggested in another thread, to do with using a non-turbo head on a turbo engine: the inlet springs and valves might be a bit heavier to counter the pressure from the turbo, but don't take that as...

When cold starting, let the engine warm up for five minutes or so on idle, before taking off.
It's a very good habit on any engine, rebuilt or not.

So I've noticed a fair few people struggle with finding a nice space to fit the rather large catch cans and I think I may have found the answer and a very simple way to install it..
I wanted to...

When we had truck engines over hauled it was as what TD said..
Drop the oil at 1000k, don't baby it but don't hammer it..
And always let the engine get up to temp each time for the first 1000k.....

Never hold any revs at one point for any period of time always vary the rev range.
after 500k start to redline in a few gears again never holding it, run it in the way you
would drive normally,...

Change your oil after 100 ks and never hold it at high revs.

Yes those grades are fine.
With th e gearbox oil stick to a gl-4 classified oil.

This seems to be the root of the catch can issues you've been having i reckon.

Geeze they look identical don't they..
If it's non turbo I'd be putting on your valve springs as the Gloria may have a lesser rate and allow the valves to open under boost
.
