so a 2006 model is not a crd . i reckon your probably hitting limp mode . if you have a dawse and needle valve , adjust the boost to 15 psi , above this you will hit limp mode . use the needle valve...

patrols with auto locking front hubs use atf in the transfere box to stop the hubs engaging on their own when not in 4x4 . the cab chasiss patrols that have manual locking hubs don't have this...

i think it depends on the type of fwd you do , faster sand and mud - diff lock . slower steep and rock crawling - lower gearing . ideally - both if funds allow. lower gearing would help a lot...

the ball in the dawes valve has been known to push through the spring , might be worth checking . it happened on mine whilst setting it up .

you could also / or instead of changing your diff ratio , change your reduction gear ratio . marks has 43% and 85% and there was someone offering a 63% ratio that some think is the ideal compromise...
