They also lower your gearbox a little for a better angle on the driveshaft I do believe. I'm going to fit mine soon so I'll let you know

You could get an actual ball and chain with a lock on it and lock it around his ankle and throw the key in a deep drum with ice and water that he has to climb in and get it out before he can undo it....

Apparently they are a good set. Haven't used them myself.
Ana onda have Tactical brand field kit which I have and has a bone saw, skinner, pouch and dress knife around the $60 mark.

For skinning as suggested a full tang is the go, with what is called an upswept blade, maybe with a gut hook on the top edge
