I put new rings and bearings in my TB42e while on jackstands. Its awkward but not hard to do and I'm over 70. Anything can be achieved if you want to do it.

My '92 tb42e did a haed gasket in a similar way as yours. The head checked out ok so while I was at it I decided to replace the rings and bearing.(450k motor) did it with the motor in place and total...

Mate its easy as. Just a lot of bits to remove first. Use the phone camera and take lots of pics to refer back to and it will be fine. Once crack tested I did a quick lap of the valves and new head...

just turn up the music....if you can't hear it it doesn't exist.
