Have no experience of diesels. In a petrol this could well be a leaking exhaust manifold gasket, or leaking exhaust flange gasket - where the engine pipe joins up with the next bit of the exhaust.

body mounts or possibly shock bushes. occasionally the sway bar connect bushes wear and cause some knocking type noise too. i have even heard of brake caliper bolts falling out and causing weird...

Are you sure the source of the oil is the turbo? Take the inlet hose of the front of the turbo (the hose that comes from the air cleaner) and have a look inside the hose to see if the oil is coming...
