I'm interested but could only be tentative and have to see what happens.
Def not next year though unfortunately.
Sorry bit it's more than likely a no from us with that time frame.

It would have to be 2016 for me though. For anyone who's done this trip. How long is it expected to take?

Yep! I'm a very likely starter. I'll be based just east of Sarina by then.
Any other southern starters are welcome to use my base as a jump off point.
About 5 hours south of Townsville.
At this point i would think we'll take the slow route up the coast and meet up in Townsville.
Theres a billion places up the coast we want to see and enjoy, not just make a B line for the tip. What is your expectations @Stropp ? Heading home we want to leave the Cape on a different road and head to Normanton and try to catch the "morning glory" there. Then head down to see my Daughter in Augathella. If she's still there or somewhere else in the outback...
