G'day, how does my aerial unscrew? I watched a vid and the aerial had a hex but to undo. Mine has these holes, not sure how hard to tap http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum.../2023/12/5.jpg
.......from under the great down under.

Yeah mate get a couple of prongs in those holes and unscrew. Circlip pliers if you have them will do the trick.
Why do you want to remove it? You need to remove the inner guard to drop the aerial and motor out, and I'm pretty sure theres two bolts, or nuts, that you access from the LHS of the foot well. I replaced the antenna cord in mine a long time ago and had to do this. Then I was sick of it going up and down everytime I turned the ignition on so I just left it down and disconnected it and put a whip antenna on the bull bar.
It uses a tool like this (we call it "vampire" over here) but it is pretty easy to improvise.

My aerial is stuffed and I tried to remove it using circlips but it just wouldn't budge.
It also looks impossible to get to it under the panel so is that true you have to actually take off the panel?
That would be a nightmare with my set up with the snorkel, etc too.
Hi mudski
The cable or whatever connects the aerial to the motor must have broken because i can hear the motor running but the aerial does not move up or down but the radio still works, you said you disconnected yours power supply which is what i want to do but where is the connection i looked behind the kick panel and there is lots of plumbing under there is it one of those?
Hi Mojo.
You can just isolate the aerial power signal on the head unit harness. Pull your head unit out and cut the wire and your are done.
Hi BrazilianY60
Pull the head unit out as in going through the inside wheel arch and cutting the power to the arial motor ?
No mate, I meant inside the car, pull the stereo out of the dash and cut the wire from the stereo that triggers the power antenna. It is usually a blue wire on ISO connectors like the Aerpro ones, if you have an aftermarket stereo.

Hey BrazilianY60
I changed out the standard Nissan Head unit for a Alpine one wth a built in cable for an ipod mp3 player you can hide in the glove box and lucky for me there was a wiring diagram
on the back of it explaining what wires went where and cutting the power supply to the aerial worked fine
Thanks for the help
