Figuring out the whole picturing lol
Well I've been busy. Committed to a full ground up build
Taking shape indeed! Whats up with the bent rear upper link? What is it clearing?
Sub tank is on that side. It's in now
Nice job, doing a similar mod on mine at the moment, but didnt strip right back to the chassis.
great base to start with
There was a doublecab one here in NZ. they lengthened the chassis about 100mm from memory, else the tray can end up hanging too far over the rear wheels and can get a bit light on steering if it's loaded.
My ute is a single cab, cut down from the LWB/5door, nicely balanced.they basically took the middle seats out and bought the rear pillar forward to the B pillar.
I'm keeping the tray short. It had a 1200 steel tray and canopy on it. I'm keeping to the 1200 but going ali canopy. Basically no tray. Just a frame to mount the canopy on
Any particular reason for the adjustable panhard bars be tapered on one and only with the other end fixed/welded? The way I imagine, if you build it tapered both ends (so with an "floating" adjustable section) you could adjust the track position without taking the panhard chassis end out, which is a pain to put back when misaligned.
That's just how they came. I've had issues with double adjustable bars coming loose before so I'm good with these ones
Interesting to know, as I am just about to turn mine into adjustables. If comming lolse is a common issue, I may have to change my plans and make them like yours.
fwiw i run double-end adjustable tie rod and drag links (no lift) and have no issues.
I'm pretty sure we were talking panhards. Tie rods factory double adjustable drag link can't remember lol

Well here is the latest. It's been a big 3 months
Nice color! It is looking really great!
That bulbar is not originally for a GQ is it?
Please share some pictures from the back panel used to close the chopped part. Does it look good from the inside as well from the ouside?
Looks great, can you post some phots of the rear tray and dimensions pls? How long x wide, how far out the rear past the end of the chassis, some pics of the mounts?

Looks great, you've done alot of work.
Really like those wheels.
Here is the latest update. Finally got to the point of a permit and a test drive. Got some high egts to resolve yet. Pump timing tool on order as I know that's probs not right. Hopefully didn't buy too big of a turbo as it's reverse scroll and limited options

I like what you have done with the rear quarter panel box and guard over the tires. Who's box, length and the guard as well? I am up to this part in my conversion but yours looks just what i need i think. Also where did you source the rubber blocks half way along the guards to no doubt support the edges of the bonnet?

Apologies for ‘snippet’ @OL1978 Mate…..but that is seriously impressive in my Nuffy eyes your custom intake plenum [emoji736][emoji736][emoji106][emoji106]
Seems like it would completely/hopefully solve far/front/back end OEM cylinder intake air pressure issues like I have previously carbon buildup found. Best of ALL, you’ve ingeniously found a way to not need a 3” body lift to close the bonnet Legend [emoji736][emoji736][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Bonnet blocks from patrolapart. Genuine ones. Boxes and guards from MW Toolbox. They are the 750mm ones. The guards from the same mob they were double sided I just cut to length
Alot of careful measuring went into that! I'm a performance petrol man mostly but I have rebuild a few td42s. Every time poor air flow damage is present. To me it was wildly apparent! I refuse to even use the common style high dollar RB intakes. I've not got it wrong in 18 years

Hope you don’t mind if I attempt a copycat on your Top-Plenum setup in times to come Old Mate [emoji120][emoji120]
Mines a recent W2A PWR top mount rebuild/setup too, happy with time poor efforts myself although way too many Nuffy silicone bends/clamps to get adventure rolling [emoji22][emoji51]

I promise to reflect/acknowledge back here on the world’s greatest TD42Ti Plenum design I’ve personally seen to date [emoji120][emoji120][emoji120][emoji120][emoji120][emoji120][emoji120]

I'm not at all fussed mate. I just play around in my machine shop. I built both manifolds as well as spent considerable time in the cylinder headAttachment 86839Attachment 86840Attachment 86841Attachment 86842
