It was a bit chilly at Purnie Bore before the Simpson crossing!! Ice on the solar panel,
roof, windscreen and bonnet when we woke up.
Nice sunrise though.

Way too cold for this little black duck, great photos though.
Nice mate!! That ice means I wouldn't be leaving the toastiness of the duna until midday though!!!! lmao
Looks a bit on the fresh side...lol
Have fun mate and keep the pics flowing..
2 cold for me mate, my GQ won't even start when there is ice about, my GQ is like me don't work in the cold *L*

Some more of the crossing, not what I thought a desert would be like,
guess with all that rain somethings gotta grow!!
I too was shocked to see so many plants and birds when i crossed the desert. Does get cold tho!

A pic can say a thousand words but experience will last you a lifetime ......... Enjoy yourself & stay safe mate.
what can one say about the australian out back,so harsh and un forgiving then shows us her beuaty to all
A few more of the trip,
Sorry, they are out of order but easy enough to pick which is which.
Third one is driving on the Old Ghan Railway Line route, the road is still randomly scattered with old
dog spikes, great for staking a tyre!
We stopped to pick a few up, they kept you on your toes dodging them while driving, others were
hidden in the dust.
Then on to Dalhousie ruins,(the better half and myself), and another sunset.
More of the desert track and one of the many soft shallow lakes we had to detour around.
Last place you would want to be bogged, in the middle of one of those!!
Next was taken on top of Big Red, looking towards Birdsville and another lake to detour around.
Then yet another sunset, every night was just magnificent to sit and watch the sun going down.
Top shots old mate - I can't wait to get to Dalhousie either!
Stop it Gavin just stop it ya barstool.

Taken at Explosion Gorge and the lookout where we had drinks and nibbles at sundown.
Love the last photo Gav, I could look at that for hours - wishing I was there.

I can't believe I missed this thread.
Well done Gav. It's given me a bit more incentive to hurry up and get my troll finished.
Any pros 'n cons of your camping set up? Anything you'd do differently next big trip?
Take care out there.
