T-Ruckus rebuilt modified 2005 Y61 GU 6.5L intercooled turbo ST wagon

Hi Folks, as suggested in my intro topic Here is Truckus.

(T-ruckus is my dads nick name for him as he reckons is big like dinosaur T rex and makes a ruckus and Truckus sort of rhymes with Truck...so I can kind of follow his logic, but he is a sharp 80 years old, so I will go with that logic)

OK So we start with a 2005 ST wagon TD42Ti sourced as best available at the time in WA in 2020.

Off to Brunswick Diesel https://www.brunswickdiesels.com.au/engine-conversion for engine upgrade for fitting of the brand-new Chevrolet 6500 Optimizer inter cooled turbo ,plumbing, adapters, electrical and new custom built all alloy extreme duty radiator. New Stainless steel Axis Fab snorkel fitted and plumbed in

While that was happening, both diffs service and reco as was the Gearbox and TX case, and install or the ARB compressor, air receivers and diff lockers.

Once that was done, vehicle was carted over to NSW for further fit out.

Add on Superior engineering 4 Inch lift kit https://www.superiorengineering.com....on-wagon-28457 with 2,0 Remote reservoir Fox shocks, Superior ENG Drop box and bush upgrades. Then off to the tire shop for some 16 inch rims (16x8 with offset-26 Dynamics with bead locker imo) and some 315/75r16LT Maxxis Razrs MT tires

and bead lockers.

Once Fatboy sliders, Kaymar bars & carriers, Rhino racks, spots and bar lights, as well as 12000lbs remote winch all installed, off to the engineers to sign off on all mods for mods, conversion cross over signatory from WA, Blue slip and rego from interstate and then all the rego costs.

and install and set up duel batteries and 12 V swbd fit out https://www.drifta.com.au/12v/ and add 80 l removable water tank that bolt in behind the rear seat cabinet void, and the Clearview Easy slide ES 150 https://www.clearviewaccessories.com...ew-easy-slide/ for the fridge.

Now after all this was done, it was time to sort out the alignment pull to the left issue and intermittent wobbles, so this a combo off the LHS front throwing off a 90 weight, and also the need for an offset trunnion, shims and king pin kit that evidently is required with significant lift for my model wagon set up, to get the ability to get an alignment suitable for Aus road camber.

Anyhow, I know a little bit about suspension, but the lads at Big wheels truck alignment Gosford are experts so if they reckon it would sort the problem , I was all ears...and true to their word it did...and he drives straight as a bullet now, one finger on the wheel, no pull, wobble or vibration at all, and actual improved feedback and handling when cornering...so while pricey (1900 with all that work, balancing and alignment done and bloody GST...well worth it).

The vehicle also has the SME UHF set up (came with the vehicle and android plug and play headset gadget and sub woofer under passenger seat). The other stuff is basically tools recovery gear, crash pad dirty gear bag, hi lift jack, wind deflectors and bonnet deflector cosmetics.

I probably have forgotten stuff, but this was a brief summary with some links for those interested in looking at similar options for their rigs, and I wanted the post to read as friendly, not having a wank or anything like that in today's easily offended world. So hope no one was offended as none was intended.

Nice looking rg mate, When they fitted the Camber correction kit for $1900 did that include a full swivel hub strip and rebuild or just the camber offset kit? You mention that you had the front and rear diffs rebuilt previously? i assume that was just the centres? Id hate to think you did the full rebuild then the alignment guys charged another 1900 for the camber kit? Surely Not?

Hey Mud, so the invoice detailed "remove steering components and install offset trunion camber kit, trunion seal kit and full wheel alignment after swapping over left and right front rims and balancing. They included the cost of the trunion camber kit in the labor cost that was 995, detailed the seal kit separately at 198, and then the rest was align balance at 495 plus gst. If that helps.

Diff centers, axles, driveshaft joints, and oil was redone over in WA before vehicle got here.

The word Trunion is Odd and maybe more commonly used in Heavy Vehicle Transport. They are commonly called King Pin and King Pin Bearings on a Nissan Patrol. All your Seals where New. The Castoline kit is an offset King Pin bearing race as you can see. the $200 charge for a Seal kit is the cost of a full swivel hub rebuild kit for both sides. Im getting crabby even writing this mate. damn it. To be honest, if you told me you paid $1000 for this job i would still say you got ripped. 2K is an outrage bud.

Hey Mud, quite possibly mate, the job started of as just a basic alignment, but the reading were so far out that I was talked into the mod. Once started I was committed so yep...I am still getting expertise on this rig up, and the other issue, even though I worked as a tech and mechanic for over 30 years with the Military, mate, the body is now so limited, that there are many things I know how to do, but the body disabilities prevent me from doing the job myself, hence I am full TPI 88 points DVA medically retired veteran, so just being mobile enough to enjoy wheeling and basic low energy fixes, or work at slow pace fixes is where I limit myself for now.

So yep, I now got to live with limitations, and sure pay folks to do some stuff that I used to be able to do myself but can not now, but that said...at least money is spent and the issue is sorted with warranty.

I guess you can understand why as even being retired with plenty of time, the evolution of the build is slow, and I am cautious going too hard too often and risking breaking stuff, as we tend to do when wheelin' hard.

I went and had a good look at what was fitted. The swivel hubs housings see figure 9 http://pedders.pl/wp-content/uploads...stallation.pdf

on both sides also look brand new as well so they were replaced, hence my understanding was that the entire swivel hub assemblies (both sides) were replaced with the offset swivel hub bearing assemblies in their entirety, rather than kingpin bearing or offset bearings kit?

Anyhow, at least the info is in this topic now, thanks to your links, for others needing to do the same.

It is likely that whoever rebuilt the diffs probably gave the swivel housing a clean and paint while it was off. Easy to do while they are off. I have also painted the actual Knuckle a couple of times too after a rub down to help prolong the scraper seal life

I don't know anywhere making custom swivel housings and they would want drug money to make singles I reckon.

I'm pretty confident that they have fitted the offset Race kit for you.

That is a pretty good vid. Interesting strip down he did. He left the stub axle on until last?? For reference though, to swap out the upper race on the king pin you can litterally take the back seals off, the upper and lower king pins out, remove the Brake calliper and the drag link and tie rod from that side and then pull the whole lot off in 1 piece. Crazy to see but easy to do. Pop out the upper race and reinstall. I'm just trying to look out for you brother.

Now did you find there is any significant difference between the GQ front end assembly (featured in your link) with the Y61 series. I have read somewhere, I can't remember where it was, that these evolved through out the GU Y61 era (that near spanned 20 years)?

So yep these days, I am more conservative with the crawl option for rock and clay work with decent spotted line selections, rather than smash wheeling right foot on through, as I want to preserve as much stuff as I can, and CV change outs on the track are no fun and would really get my mates chalking up the beers on me.

I still rock the momentum for sand and mud though...as one does....our trucks love to put the off road make up on!

Thanks again for the tips and hints too...yep perhaps I fell into the "leave it with us" trap, as they had the vehicle for over a week. I public transported back and out there to collect (and that takes ages here) so options were limited.

Fundamentally the Swivel hubs of a GQ and a GU are basically identical. The Axle seals are the same. The wheel bearing lock nut on a GU is better and not the bend tab locking ring. Thee CV is bigger in a GU and also the Brakes are better and they are slightly wider and longer axles. I run GU diffs under my GQ for the bigger CVs and the Brake upgrade was significant.

Today us earth and short chasing,Low beams are fine, high beams and spots out of service. Likely fuses or relay issue....either that or those possums and bush rats livin' on the edge now!

(I actually had a bush rats build a nest and eat through engine main wiring harness on a vehicle I had parked up in the carport while I was away on a deployment, so with the bush around here, one can not discount anything)

Man...the electrical section of the GU manual...painful...and only half relevant now.

Asked a question about a weird quirk about 10 mins after start up when Gauge goes three quarters to full scale then settles back on half (all day), but after some solid advice from MB...I am sourcing a redarc digital Aftermarket gauge and sender to install so I can monitor what the coolant temp is, and if needed go with the a set of 88C AcDelco Thermostat.

As long as keep the radiator breathing and clear of crap no evident over temp issues that I have noticed as yet...touching wood!

Suggestions and experiences welcome over there, and I will post the finished result and comments here.

FWIW: RidePro I think steering dampener on my 6.5 GU ute seems ok, just had a Dobinson fitted to a lighter GQ ute project so will take some time for feedback unfortunately from nuffy me [emoji106]

Cheers MB, I am thinking as it is a tourer first (and my primary vehicle..not quiet a daily, I only go out three or four times a week tops), technical tracks and beaches second (add mud, water, rock, clay shale and accents and descents) that potentially the RTC would be OK, but then again, I am also thinking sand, mud and crap would get caught up in the could work and the spring collar and become a ball ache and corrosion failure point eventually.

Perhaps the folks may comment n their experiences in the topic I did for this upgrade. Current one is stamped partbox 4861, and I think she may be the original that came with the wagon.

Anyhow, went with the Dobinson dampener, so its in the mail, but I have now found the issue with cooling and temp gauge gremlin. :animierte-smil that I was chatting about earlier with the 10 mins after cold start temp rise, and then settle.


Bad news...I am now onto Brunswick in WA organizing warranty claim for what is either cracked heads or blown head gaskets on an engine 11 months old with 17000 Kms on it.:oops:

Found coolant tank was pressuring even on cold start as was running on OBD scan on the temp sender output to get a confidence check that the gauge is telling me good info (as was prepping to have digital A/M gauge installed). It was and coolant still cool and the signal was correct, but reservoir already bubbling and gurgling. suggesting exhaust gas pressuring cooling system.

So Tee kay test...and just of the vapor (after draining coolant a bit so it would not go into test chamber and foul readings) coming out of the top of the res, 4 squeezes and she yellow shifted...so..gasket or head crack.

Also fund condensation in EGR valve, but no signs of coolant in sump oil or oil filler cap, nor any soot build up in coolant.

Anyhow, engine still has 25 months warranty or another 43000 Kms on it so now gt to find a way to get it fixed without having to pay to get the car freighted from NSW to WA and back again ( a few grand there at least).

Now in all the time I have owned it, it has never gotten over 3/4 temp on gauge for more than 20 seconds and thats only after ten minutes from cold start before it settled back under half, and then stayed there all day for hot start or constant running, so to my knowledge engine has never kettled or boiled over.


So pretty pissed off atm, and hoping Brunswick has a plan in place to honor warranty for a 27 K install, and another 2K road haul for delivery.

Have spoken with head tech twice now, and he is getting back to me today.

Let us see what happens.:toot:

No call back from Brunswick as they promised after I spoke to them yesterday, and then this morning, and was told they would get back to me today with a repair plan.

So the "old dont call us, well will call you, but perhaps if you give us another 27K we can fit an new engine for you"...like thats ever going to happen, Really pissed off I chose not to go the Duramax 6.6 Allison trans 50K option now. At least they got service techs and agents in the east.

So folks, for those that missed my little blow up over in the grumpy topic....


Now I inherited this build (so paid good money for the car in October 20), and continued evolving the truck. At the time of purchase there was absolutely no indication of any engine issues present, the service history looked great, and the engine only had 15000 kms on it, with 31 months warranty still left on it. Previous owner swore never had any issues with it and I went over it with a fine tooth comb. No signs of coolant loss or over pressure at all then.

Yesterday I get a progress update and find out after an engine inspection, that not only are both head gaskets farked, also, the pistons have corrosion and the bore hones are corroded and almost wiped. Looks like a 20 thou oversize rebuild is now on the cards.:jawdrop: and I don't think there will be much change out of 10 grand, perhaps more. I wish these were liner engines! Much easier to fix.


Anyhow, turns out previous owner was full of shit, and still is denying any issues with the engine.

Sure, I made a claim under warranty to Brunswick, who eventually sent me to Blackheath auto for the head gasket repairs, and during the inspection,after they pulled the donk, they found the above. They notified Brunswick and sure enough Greg goes hunting for service history. Now would you all believe what he comes up with.

See pdf invoice dated a month before I bought the car, and ironically the service log from the 1000, 5000, and 10000 km services are completed in the log, so I was about to do the 15000 when the over pressure issue started.

Costs were omitted, but the ex owners name is still there, as I have no issue naming and shaming liars and thieves. Now I have all the service records, except for this one, that now thanks to Greg at Brunswick Diesels detective work (no doubt to limit liability for warranty), I now have too, and this is evidence that I been skinned like a shave tail.

Evidently that was done when needed in Sept 20, when the issue was first discovered, but the car service center did not fill out the maintenance log this time for the 15000 (edit...as they did not conduct the service merely diagnosed the heads issue and informed the owner at the time of the serious defect), and (edit)evidently another workshop (end edit) then added an additive sealant to mask the issue, so the problem could be then on sold to some poor sucker..in this case me.:icon_bonk:

So now instead of a few grand repair Brunswick indicated they would likely honor, we are now looking at a full rebuild due to the vehicle being driven for another 1000 odd kms (due to the uncertainty of head issues, and masking if the problem by prior owner and the service center who should have detailed this in the service log), and now who covers what costs is certainly unclear.

I will find out more after the Easter break but for now I am just shitted off to the maximum. Why the silly Can't did not just do a warranty claim earlier has me well fucked....and he still denies any issues with the car, despite me knowing otherwise.

The trouble is I have spent so much more on it, I am sort of committed to getting it fixed, rather than just walking away and copping a huge loss.

I guess the moral is don't trust anyone now these days...and this certainly is a great example of pissed off.:blowup:

So now the hand goes deeply into the pocket, and things start to move along again at great pace.

This ships out from Brunswick next Tuesday for arrival a week later up in Blackheath for Install.

Included is full gasket kit for install, new thermostats and belts, 36 months warranty or 60000 kms and a deal to split the install cost with a negotiated engine discount (as per agreement with Greg at Brunswick I am not at liberty to discuss funds at this time, but the discount was substantial as will be the install cost offset).

Blackheath now will remove all the good bits from my engine and transplant onto the new long block, (so turbo, inter cooler, plumbing, injection pump, lines and injectors, etc) and then return ship exchange my old engine (I believe this cost will be on Bruswicks freight ticket), then install, add fluids, time, tune and test, plus do the paperwork for new engine number certification for NSW requirements.

Fortunately, as the previous engine was already engineered in NSW (in addition to the other mods on the rig) It does not need re engineering , just eng # inspection and certification for the RMS records.

Now option one, glaze break and rehone was discounted as cylinder bore damage was too significant with rust pitting.

Option 2 20 thou over rebore and rebuild with 20 thou over pistons, while an option was going to have a lead time of 6 to 8 weeks due to machine shop back log, and then it was likely I would be also up for new heads as well, and the cost was a few grand more than a replacement "new" long block was going to be. Truck has already been gone over a month now, and off road for near on two months all ready, so option 3 was the alternative to get things moving.

Now I still got costs with Black heath to pay once the jobs done, for some extra work I got them to do, just on my dime, and the removal and install that Brunswick is splitting with me, so probably a few more grand yet to be spent.

That said....some thing interesting I learnt ...that the bloke who sold me this defect will learn after all costs are known, itemized and rig is up and running again...have a read of lawyer TimW posts on this link https://www.lawanswers.com.au/thread...r-beware.1824/ and expand the initial letter of demand in the first post, from fella who did the same as the bloke who sold me truckus did.

Now if the plaintiff...me ...can show that the seller "engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct to obtain a financial advantage."

So basically...it is a matter for one party (a plaintiff, such as dissatisfied private car buyer)
to show, on the balance of probabilities, that the other party
(a defendant, such as a private car seller) acted fraudulently when entering into the contract.
But that is very do-able - because proving a negative is quite difficult for a defendant to do.

Now if only the buyer had written evidence that the seller knew about the defect, in addition to written evidence that the defect records on service history was omitted from the service history, that stat declarations as affidavits confirming the validity of evidence of the defect notification(certified true copy and affidavits reporting failed "CO2 test" and "bubbling its head off" and "head gasket seal additive is a temporary repair solution ONLY") to the seller 6 weeks prior to sale listing, and that the seller has intentionally misrepresented the condition of the vehicle to accept full fair market value of a defect free vehicle as advertised (such as a screen shot of the car sales advert and certified true copy of the listing from carsales records) with the entire description stating "the vehicle is mechanically perfect, under warranty and is capable and reliable enough to take you to cape York or Tuff truck" and at no stage since purchase has admitted to any defect with the vehicle, and I had detailed service reports showing damage to engine that justified full replacement expense...well...if only I had all those things in evidence....Oh thats right:harhar:...I already have, and yes, I already got a gun commercial law lawyer just waiting the final bill and outcome before pulling the trigger.

All of this is all good and well. And it's great that the outcome will be a new crate motor. But are you 100% the motor that was put in for the previous owner was new? It could have been a second hand item which I'm sure those guys over there do fit unless requested otherwise. I know it's a shit situation but it may not be as clear cut. Remember all this information you have gotten is from the guys who now don't have to cough up full warranty.

All of this is all good and well. And it's great that the outcome will be a new crate motor. But are you 100% the motor that was put in for the previous owner was new? It could have been a second hand item which I'm sure those guys over there do fit unless requested otherwise. I know it's a shit situation but it may not be as clear cut. Remember all this information you have gotten is from the guys who now don't have to cough up full warranty.

I do have all the original quotes and invoices for the engine conversion indicating new crate engine as part of the vehicles service history documents that I got with the sale back in October, the only records missing were the ones from the car service mob over here in NSW that reported on the engine issue in Sept 20, 6 weeks before I bought it to to take over the build. No evidence to suggest the engine was otherwise was documented...so very hard to say that it was not a new engine to begin with, or even a manufactured rebuild. The full cost was paid at the time of conversion, indicating the engine was not one of the second engines advertised in stock at 1/5 of the cost paid in conversion.

The case for court will simply be...the engine and vehicle condition was represented by the seller as mechanically A1 and perfect with warranty (despite the seller knowing otherwise and mis representing the condition for financial advantage),and accordingly, subsequent contract for sale at market value for defect free car was entered into.

Engine status quo was advertised and contracted for sale to myself as new (5 months and 15000 kms since install) and under warranty, any other factors are irrelevant in court decision making. The smoking gun in this case is the notification by the car service centre here in NSW advising the previous owner of the defect 6 weeks before the sale. This document and corresponding statements form the service centre, has also been corroborated and verified with the car service center, and these records can be further subpoenaed into evidence if needed for further court satisfaction.

The court case is a future me problem, but we have all the documentation to support our case beyond reasonable doubt (99% proof), and we only need to show basis of probability (51% proof) to get a result in our favor.

Considerations otherwise such as questioning the original engine status quo is basically defense lawyer technicality tactics, that are actually irrelevant to the case at hand..as the case will be about fraud for engine condition misrepresentation, and is not dependent of engine history.

I do get what you are suggesting, but I have no proof that this is the case, but the thought of having to buy another new engine even at discounted price for an engine with low mileage and age advertised as under warranty.... is truly vexxing...in fact I can not express how fucking annoyed I actually am,,, as things like suggesting "blowing up houses and shooting folks" would be inappropriate to discuss, as that is third world order thinking.

I guess the seller is fortunate we don't live in Rio or many if the other places were this kind of retribution occurs daily for lesser slights, thus the legal approach is the solution to the problem.

In fairness to Brunswick Diesel, they have assisted here, in what is a shitty situation, all because the last twit decided to mask and hide the defect and and on sell to rip some poor bastard off for top dollar, instead of pursuing warranty claim and repair.

If the truck had been priced 15K less with the defect declared before sale, well, that would have been a different story, basically I would have taken in another one for ongoing project, or, if I did buy this one at a lower price, with known defect, I would be right onto warranty repair before spending all the other dollars on it.

So at least this repair option will save me close on 7 grand at stumps, with the assistance from BD.

Anyhow, the next step is getting the new plant fitted and paying the bill to the fitters. Once that is done onto the next step.

Finally after three months of being off the road (and not in the fun and get dirty way), and 12.5 grand out of Pocket expenses (in addition to the discounts and money Brunswick Diesel helped out with for the engine remove and install new plant), Ol Mate Truckus Soot monster is back on the road with a new long motor and pulling like a freight train.

Have also added Boost, EGT and coolant temp monitoring as well

Some missing pieces of the puzzle now falling into place as I start to wind up the legal action commencement.

Interestingly I received a PM from Neale the owner of Central Coast Car Service who invited me to have a phone chat with him. Naturally I did so, and he was able to confirm that he most certainly advised the previous owner of the nature of the defect, and had also attempted to liaise with BD to organize a repair Solution that would involve engine removal and disassembly, back in September (6 weeks before I was sold the vehicle), and that the vehicle had been with them for a significant time frame while trying to organize a repair solution with BD. Evidently he was unsuccessful, and the vehicle was removed by the previous owner who took it to another shop in Riverstone, whom miraculously repaired the vehicle overnight with a new radiator cap, before returning the vehicle to the previous owner.

Neale advised me that at no stage did they use an additive or service the vehicle after the initial test had confirmed significant combustion gas bypass and coolant pressurization, as he had told the previous owner it would be pointless as the engine would require significant disassembly to rectify the issue.

This does explain why the service record for the 15000Km log book entry was not completed and I am inclined to take the man at his word.

This also explains how BD was able to source the relevant evidence indicating the previous owner was aware of the defect, as evidently, Both CCCS and the previous owner had made BD aware of the defect in Sept 20, however the previous owner chose to then hide and on sell the issue, rather than push for the warranty repair option. I have no axe to grind with CCCS at all, and wont be pursuing them legally, nor nay-saying their business reputation, as to me they are not at fault here.

I suspect the additive (that was found on engine inspection in addition to K seal) was used as a temp repair option, and the coolant level was lowered by the Riverstone workshop to mask the defect symptom, with the intent to on sell the vehicle with the hidden defect.

The purpose of this post is to fill the gaps for the read between the lines fans and remove any stigma potentially generated with CCCS, but at the end of the day, this only again proves that no matter the motivation or the reason, he previous owner is guilty of obtaining financial advantage through deception, as at no stage has he admitted to any defect on the engine, in fact he advertised mechanically perfect under a warranty (that he knew he was having difficulty in claiming) through mis representation of advertised vehicle condition, calculated omission of defect declaration and omission of service notification of defect, when all evidence now suggests and is corroborated that he knew full well the engine was fisted.

Anyhow, Jake, if you reading this(as evidently ol mate Neale at CCCS is a family friend and a member here so will pass this on to you, as you wont take my calls, hence why my lawyer will be writing to you), a bank cheque for 12500 dollars will save you a few grand in court.

Now my advice from an old bloke to any of you people out there thinking of doing modifications to your vehicle, do your research very very carefully not only on the modified components but also the supplier and installer. Ask yourself what do want, more power, more reliability if you want both I'm sorry to burst your bubble but the two rarely go hand in hand. Now I'm not going to go into my experience with any supplier on a public forum but I want to again say do your own research. The words of father are always going through my mind, "leave it alone son there's nothing wrong with the way it was made." I didn't believe him when I was seventeen but I do now. I know I will get a sledging for that but I don't care. Cheers.

Cheers Neale, it was worth the effort to chat, as we were able to between us, confirm some suspicions, corroborate further some evidence of prior knowledge, and generally get some real information as to the vehicles short but turbulent history prior to my ownership and continued development.

We also now know when the additive was added prior to sale and by whom (again, not your shop), and why service records in the log were not completed at your shop, as you did not conduct the service on that occasion, merely diagnosed and identified the defect and its significance to the prior owner, and you opened the door for a warranty claim with the original engine supplier for the previous owner, that, for what ever reason, they chose not to pursue, rather, they took the incorrect and illegal option as detailed in this topic.

For those still unaware of the laws regarding sales of vehicles...


No, a private seller does not have to warrant a car in the same way as a Licenced Motor Dealer.

But, it is a basic principle of the Law of Contract that if a person enters into a contract that is fraudulent, then that contract is voidable.
And if that's the case then, for example, a "seller" can be made to take the object sold
(be that a car or whatever) back, and be made to return the money.
Or, in the alternative, be made to pay for relevant repairs.

Without referring to any speific particular case, an example of a fraudulent act in contract could be
deliberately withholding information about the mechanical condition of a car
that a seller knew, or reasonably should have known, was the kind of information
that a reasonable person would think was relevant to the decision to buy that car or not.
Even if neither party understood the technical/mechanical nature of that information.

Yes, it is a matter for one party (a plaintiff, such as dissatisfied private car buyer)
to show, on the balance of probabilities, that the other party
(a defendant, such as a private car seller) acted fraudulently when entering into the contract.
But that is very do-able - because proving a negative is quite difficult for a defendant to do.

So Engine now has 400 kms on it now and is behaving well. Additional fitted monitoring with EGT, Boost and Dig coolant temp well worth the effort, and really helping me regain confidence in the vehicle.

Today was awesome weather so we did a few local fire trails and a nice run around to some local pubs including Patonga to maybe grabs some snaps for the photo comp. Hot tip, even if you can get parking near a pub (i had to actually use my permit to park in a disabled...normally I leave them if other parking available)

The Soot Monster is sounding a shit load better than it did before Hodgey, cheers for commenting, in actual fact, he will be sounding even better this coming week, I am booked in Tuesday for a custom exhaust set up to change out the somewhat mediocre one that was supplied with the vehicle after the initial conversion.

Looking at 3.5" Mandrel bent (no pinch points) Stainless, so that is about the sweet spot for flow a volumetric efficiency even at max of 16 PSI boost. No BoV...as I refuse to have cooing pigeons under the hood! (and not needed with the throttle plate and waste to exhaust apparently, as any overboost is inhaled by displacement with good exhaust flow on the other-side)..perhaps the other 6.5 turbo or supercharged lads could chime in here with their knowledge and experiences.
