I chose the LWB wagon for touring & its practicality but would one day like to build a more purpose built Rig for the stuff I wouldn't put the Mav through.
Cheers
Paul
starting to get a trend there but its early days yet.
FINLY is lwb 3.3sdt 5spd manual MK on 16" sunraysias all stock except the wheels. I'm not a hardcore 4wd'er but do use it for pulling trailers. Have been offroad. Need to do liitle tlc to front end and should be very reliable offroad anytime again.
DX grunt is just that. Pure grunt. No bling, no frills, pure grunt. I'm blessed with a radio, cd player, heater and all the mods I need. Who needs luxuries like carpet, electric windows, DVD players? All ya need is a 4.2 TDi, GU Ute with Pure Grunt... Might change my name I think....lol
AHHH
strangely enough
a Nissan Patrol hehe
Cmon somebody had to say it
Mines the GQ coily ute .an the Mrs has the Maverick lwb.
Narrr thats all BS Rohan, thay are exactly the same mechanically. The luxury packs differ a little but only slightly. You could get on a Mav anything you could get on a GQ..
Even the ford badge holder for the grill is a Nissan part & as a Nissan part number in it.
Cheers
Paul
The badge ,the wipers still say Nissan.
I havent found any real differences appart from the trim an some of the options .
The base model Maverick had more options than the base model patrol ,but the mav's did'nt have sway bar releases in any model as far as i know .
Mines a 97 GQ TI LWB TB42E
I drive a Patrol y61, so it's called in Belgium
A Red GU Wagon for me, with the mighty RD2.8TD powerplant thrusting me onwards and upwards.
Paul
GU Coily Ute. 4" lift, twin lockers, 33" BFG muddies and a bit of a tweak on the dyno;)
Love the low down torque of the big 4.2.
I have a Shorty, that's been cut into a Ute, so does that count as 2:bananarock::icon_victory:
Possibly the oldest stock patrol registered on road, here.
85 MK LWB 2" shackles 2" springs 35" Nankang muddies N/A SD33
81 MQ UTE 2" shackles 2" springs SPOA 35" radial claws Warmed 308 (Undergoing rebuild)
Total cost for both vehicles equals the cost for a decent GQ 4.2 lwb but have twice as much fun and dont have to freak out when i scratch it
94 Courier dual cab 2" lift 15" white sunnies with 32" maxiss buckshot mudders
and I just a bought a 93 Maverick LWB factory standart with no mods.. Blank canvas! :)
The poll is really starting t shape now.
70% of the members are in Wagons.
We could get that one going too Doggie for sure!
Another red gu wagon with the Td42t motor. Got it simply cause couldn't knock it back at the price & condition. Also like the look of the wagons & prefer it for touring.
