Been agonising over to get one or not Ive had one in my watch list for a year now
Where's your research leading you mate Brand model etc and what about can u see them with polarised sunnies on .My Lowance 7 on the boat is shite with sunnies on regardless of how rated the glasses are .
i bought one from Repco a little while ago as i figured it would be a perfect way to get an accurate speedo as it took its signal from GPS rather than the car. When i went to fit it though i had to install this ridiculous panel of reflective mirror type stuff to the inside of the windscreen and was going to be in the middle of my view. Just Dumb and i considered it to be a Safety issue. The unit i purchased also was going to be a real bastard to mount in a space on a GU Dash where it reflected into the right spot on the windscreen. the Dash was the wrong shape.
I ended up taking it back and asking for a refund. Nice idea in theory but when it played out it was going to be hideous. Its great if its built in but retro fitting was a dogs breakfast.
I just use this app on my phone, which can also be used as a HUD. Not tried it as an HUD during the day though. But it's free, so why not try it........... your yours is an android phone that is.

I use Speedometer app on my iPhone
It's quite good and can be used as a HUDhttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...017/04/190.jpg

I used the HUD through an app like a few of the others here, it seemed gimmicky and I got over it pretty quickly. I was pretty wary of the accuracy too, don't think the police would take too kindly to that excuse!
Maybe a real one would be better, but I think I got the gist.

If you search these models on Amazon though I'm sure you could find numerous reviews.
Don't have one but have been watching its development from the very start...... Very pricey at the moment

I dunno... the incessant radio chatter of ' Break left, Blue Leader, Rifle Rifle Rifle Missile away, Don't leave me Mav' would probably drive me nuts plus I don't have room for the Smart Bombs on the Ute Tray.
The cheap versions rely on a pad being stuck on the screen so risky if you put them near or in your line of sight and need replacement if you do a 'screen, the panel versions would prob be better but car dash and windscreen rake could be an issue I reckon.
I spose one day soon they will do optically true patches in windscreens and HUD will be standard.
I just used a speedo app on my phone to work out how far out my speedo is at the speeds I normally travel at, now I just adjust my speed to suite and no longer need a speedo app or HUD.
Ok the last speedo for a 1999 td4.2t on Nissans books is in VIC they dont make them anymore ,price $650 plus .Right O stop sqealing there is a way out I bought a 2.8 lt diesel speedo for less than a hungie took the 4 screws out of the back prized the needle off removed the speedo face and swapped over . Now the tacho is right no change there , the odometer now works and wait for it the speedo is correct to 1 k for 286 75 r16 s ,the donor speedo was the same year .Happy days
Hema navigator I find is useful for speed info as is any navigator I suppose .
