Rear storage unit

-
Looks good. My talent with wood extends to lighting fires and throwing it for the dog to fetch.
-
Thanks Guys, hopefully be good when finished
-
Great work mate! Look forward to seeing this progress as I'm currently drawing up a plan for some rear storage!
-
Great start Sharky. Any idea what's going to fill the front spots? And are the wheel arches still accessible?

Very nice work, envious of your wood working skills

Thanks everyone, Westy the wheel arches are accessable via lift up wings. However the very front at around where the second row seat is screwed on. I have a fusebox on one side that wiring will be going into and was thinking of putting my either my invertor or the fridge mobitronic (240v to 12v reducer) in other side. Was all good as if blew a fuse etc 4 screws out to fix but problem I now have which I didn't think of is I'm building or more the fact modifying a cargo barrier to sit on top and this will pin down any easy way of changing fuses etc. So might have to mod that bit so I don't have to remove barrier to do a fuse. Will try and get under pics if you like mate

All good. If you do split the barrier run 2 bits of flat from the outside bolts back to the rear seat belt bolts in the wheel arches.
Have a look at my draws build for the pics

Thanks mate just had a look at your mounting and nice work there. Only thing is I cant fit strap in between as it will push side boxes out and tolerance fit with one across now. I'm thinking the tops on mine although cant see in pics are 2 piece not 1 like pic of uncovered one, I'm thinking that the shorter front section making it 2 pieces so can remove even if barrier is in place, thus giving access to those areas.

Bugger. Although I see you still have the carpet fitted. Remove that and there's your fit.
Seeing I have kids when the seats are in access is nil. So I've placed a 75L custom stainless water tank in that gap. Hose comes out the side. Was going to place a pump and out let in the rear for it but now we have the van it'll be staying staying a gravity feed

There is no carpet on the inside so between inside of box and wheel arch mount. Basically I only carpeted bits that are seen with exception of behind second row seats. Or were you referring to the floor carpet?. Where is your water tank? Another pic with carpet on.

Oh that carpet yeah that's still there mate, sorry wasn't sure which ya meant, Probably could get enough clearance doing that. Thanks Blocko cheers mate

top job mate. What are you going to use for tie down points for the fridge.
-
Thanks mate my waeco is a pov pack one and doesn't have handles/tie downs. I will be making a roof for it that will be removable when not using fridge. This will encase it in there and wont go anywhere. I've had to do this everytime I've made a storage unit

Great work mate. Very nice design. Might look at something very similar down the road if I decide on fridge and draw system.
Hope it functions as well as it looks :)
