Help with list of RWC fixes please 1989 GQ 4.2d Wagon

This is the list I got back for RWC and I would appreciate any info, fixes or source of parts please

Steering wheel grip loose: fix/glue or aftermarket wheel
Drivers side seat belt frayed: Replace where do i find aftermarket or how to fix?
Front trailing arm bushes under diff stuffed: Replace parts supply aftermarket?
Disc pads need replace all around: best type?
Rear axel seals leaking: advice on fixing and new seals?
Both front door hinges both sides: replace parts supply aftermarket where to buy?
Fuel tank signs of leak from above maybe when filling? any advice
When on hoist one of the rear coil springs wants to fall out? shocks or something more sinister?

I use Bendix 4WD brake pads, they are the best in my opinion.
With the steering wheel, fill a syringe with super glue and stick it in, just inject it around the steel bar and leave for a while, that should fix it.

what wrong with the front door hinges ??

Aftermarket steering wheels need to be the same diameter as the original or ot wont comply. To repair the original if you're are unable to do it yourself you can get a bloke to come out on site to glue it.

Repco and bursons should be able to organise aftermarket units or get some good second hand ones
Go genuine rubber pm Mudski he should stock them or try Patrolapart if Mark doesn't have them.
As Winnie said Bendix 4wd are the best still ausie made even tho they're owned by trw now but still THE BEST!!
Genuine new or second hand hinges, no aftermarket units available. Why did they fail anyway???
Drop the tank to see if a hose or the seal has perished. (I had a crv come into work the other day and the cap that hold the sender unit down was loose and was leaking when full)

Maybe your spring has sagged?? Or tye shocker is too long for your spring travel

That should keep you busy for a little while

For the steering wheel, I cut some small holes at intervals on the inner side and used a caulking gun to pump silicon between the grip and the steel. I then taped over the holes and kneaded the silicon until it was even. After the silicon was dry I removed the tape. It lasted for ten years.

Door hinges : dont buy cheap aftermarket ones, they'll last a month if your lucky. Go genuine Nissan and you never have to do them again.( patrolapart or maybe ebay) Replace the whole hinge. Just replacing the pins is a PITA.
Frayed seat belt; cant be repaired, must be replaced.... wreckers would be your best bet.

I am getting prices for above parts from Nissan and Patrol a Part, May just bite bullet and get 2" lift kit with shocks. Steering wheel fixed buy guy who injects glue for $50.

New seat belt from Nissan $185
door hinge's Nissan $444
Brake pads sorted
Axel seals Nissan $11 inner $45 outer x 2
Front bushes Nissan $40 ea x 4
Iron Man 2" lift kit with HD shocks $1,250.00

I recon the springs are sagged and just pulled the iron man shocks off and one feels stuffed, Iron man springs +50mm and foam cell shocks for $1200 any good?

Fixed steering wheel $50 glue injection.

Still can't see where fuel tank leak is pulled the inspection hatch from in the back lots of dirt but nothing wet around sender, pulled the filler rubber cover off and can't see any wet there etc Bugga May have to pull the tank out

Looks like only the top hinge's are stuffed may buy genuine drivers and cheep passengers

Dunno bout the shocks but +50mm is roadworthy legal, if you have a look thru the forum you'll probably find a revue or three haha.
Price sounds about right for the steering wheel grip .

After you do the shocks give the tank a good degrease and was then go for a drive and see if it leaks, if it doesn't then job done!

Aftermarket would be half the price surely, did you try bursons or repco for the seatbelt??

I found some seat belt specialists online, send away $100 bucks to repair, $140 for aftermarket plus $20 freight.

Thinking with the door hinge's to go aftermarket for the passenger side $70 and Genuine Nissan drivers side from patrol apart for $165. Had a chance to have a look this arvo and it seams only the top hinge have most of the play.

I will research what the best option +50mm springs and shocks are for me, any recommendations?

I'm down near gisborne mate. I can help with seat belts but for hinges sound about the same in my wreck lol

A Local spring works has got the bushes and 50mm lift springs.

I found out this arvo why the rear spring is loose when up on a hoist, the shocks that where on it are longer than stock. So a mate has lent me some standard rear shocks to fit.

I ordered a new seat belt $185 and Gen door hinges $145 today from Patrol a part, I am going to put the cheep door hinges on the passenger side $50 from patrol a part. Sorry Matfew I thought the chances of getting near perfect second hand seat belts was not an option.

With the tank, pull it check for an cracks / damaged hoses etc - if all ok - give it a paint. (is it the main or belly tank) - just to hide for the roady

If the tank is leaking - you will smell it when on the road with a full tank. I have gone though a couple of belly tanks - mainly due to sitting on to of rocks while off road.

There was a guy in Benalla selling som gq bits.

What LSD have you got in the front diff?

Mk rear centre.

The MK used 12mm bolts, while the GQ uses 14mm on the ring gear (thread is on ther ing grear). I just filed the diff centre to aling the holes with the ring gear.
