Has anyone wrapped their dash surrounds and all the other faded/worn through silver bits????? I was going to have a go with some brushed silver. I saw some on Evilbay a while ago done in carbon fibre that looked good.

I'm planning a complete do over for the internals from the carpet up, this would include wrapping the black surround around the stereo and climate controls if I can get the matt charcoal im after.
In my car the wrap will be used to cover screw damage once I've filled and sanded the holes for a smooth finish.
The doors will be retrimmed with cloth at the same time.
Look here for some info
Thanks TimE thats what Im after.
The cheaper vinyl wraps are a pain to use on curved surfaces. As with most things, you get what you pay for. 3m are a good brand.
Also, generally the textured or patterned finishes (such as the brushed ally look or carbon fibre look) are a lot less flexible and maluble making it harder to wrap any curves.
having some paint made up for the patrol
especialy the silver on the arm rests
just took the parts in with the colours i wanted
$30.00 a spray can
its a bit easyier than wrapping
no code just have to take part in and they match it
no markings on the can
Bugger....
Instead of wrapping give flocking a go. A bloke on here did it to his gq dash and it looked schmick!
I had a quick shot with the wrap. I'll be redoing this piece once I've worked out the full details of the retrim, in this instance I was seeing how hard the vinyl wrap was to work with.
The before shot of console full of holes that predate my ownership of the car.

With a little cleanup and wrapped. A little more care needs to be taken filling the holes as any surface flaws show the through the wrap. A hot air gun is a must.

OK for a quick job. The texture I chose isn't right...
Repainting's a great idea (Although not really durable, especially around the window switches). Will they mix the paint with a flexible additive suitable for plastic so that it doesn't harden and crack over time?
