Hello all,
I'm going camping in a couple of weeks for 4 days and it has to have a few requirements... (self sufficent)
Needs to be less than 2hrs from sunshine coast
Must be dog friendly
Must be child friendly
Open fires allowed
River or dam close ish
Some reasonable tracks
Not beach
Can get there with offroad camper
Not a tourist hotspot
Hope there is something that ticks the boxes..
Any help with your extensive wealth of knowledge would be great..

Just so you know i'm not being lazy, searched the net, forum and bought maps and books.
I've got the qld and nsw campsite books from repco but personal experience is obviously alot better...

There is another camping ground nearby but the name eludes me. Myself and the missus went there last week end and fell in love with it. Pets are good as long as they behave. Will find the other place and post it up shortly.

I think the dog thing is going to be an issue everywhere if patrolled by powertrip rangers.. Anyone stayed there? The two dogs are only bloody minature cavalliers ( fit in a stubby cooler )
Or anyone know a private property that we could use for a carton or two. Could even do some feral pest control in return. I'm a SSAA farmer assist shooter?
I'm a shooter to know of anywhere to shoot? I want to go to benarkin so I can trail ride and see if there's any 4wding to be done

They are very good and the campsites are immaculate. They have some rules but talking to the people who were camping ther, they said it was a great place to stay. 4wd tracks throughout the 4000 acres and wake up to cattle browsing through your campsite.

We went there two weeks ago. Great campgrounds, dog friendly nice creek, plenty of space and some tracks, nothing special by any means (that we found anyway) Good for a relax and good for kids.Quote:

They allow dogs no worries as long as they are kept under control, open camp fires and you can retrieve wood from the nearby bushland (good quality and heaps of it). It will take 2:37 minutes from the Sunny Coast according to google maps.
I went there this year in September and it was quiet as a mouse, no one else there on the weekend!
