Ramjet

Hey guys, New to the forum, so I decided to post on what I've just got.

Named her Ramjet due to a custom airbrushing of what I think is a transformer of some kind on the bonnet.
She's a 1991 GQ SWB Patrol, 4.2 Tb42 petrol & LPG, running on 31" ht, also came with a set of 5 33" inteco super swampers.
2" suspension lift, 10,000 pound winch, roof rack, water tank, snorkel (not connected yet).

A pretty simple starter for what I hope to turn into a complete tourer/camper.

Since having her over the past few weeks, I've added a set of calibre raptor 7's driving lights to the front for now, and a reverse/work light to the rear.


Over the next month or 2, I've planned to add side awning/camp tent, LED light bar to the roof rack, Highlift jack/shovel to the rear of the roof rack, and planning on painting the roof rack black.


Long term plans, as crazy as they are, eventually do a 4.2 td42 conversion, 3" suspension lift, Brand new set of 5 Cooper Discover STT/Maxxis Bighorn/BFG MTZ 33x12.5r15, and Custom rear bar work and bash plates.

Always open for ideas, like I said, fairly new to this, and I always dream big!

Won't deny the fact that I used to enjoy it a bit when I was a kid, took me a while to realize it after I named her haha.

It sure is mate, Nic is a great guy from the short amount of time I've known him. I'm all the way up in Rockhampton, in central queensland. Told him I'm going to take good care of her and was hoping to catch up with him later on down the track. It's good to see that she is well known. :) sorry for the late reply, had a few busy days lately..

So I've done some small additions, she now has a nice 42" light bar to light up the tracks and highways at night

doesnt have anywhere near the power of the shorty mate, but is much more suited to what i want from offroading. im glad there were no more surprises after that bloody bearing lol. like i said in the past... well looked after, and very mechanically sound. bit of a power upgrade from the little 4bies you said you took out before you got the shorty hey?

A lot more power than the little ones haha, it just chugs it's way through anything, only been bogged when I try to bog myself, or with the 31s and not enough clearance. Even when I was bogged in the sand, I was still moving slowly but just not climbing back up. I can never shut up about her! Haha

hahah nice to see mate. did you get any videos?

My phone was flat before I could get any and I didn't have my charger, I'm gonna have a decent camera for next time so I can do all that.

Took Ramjet out for a bit of fun the other day, just out to a few local spots. Had a bit of fun and cost a bit more than I liked. Attachment 45029

But while attempting to winch my mate out of a hole after a nice little shower,
Attachment 45032 the other brake line decided to split, along with the buckets inside the master cylinder!! :eek: :(

So she's off the road for now, looking at a few wrecks tomorrow to see if there is any good master cylinders or at least a temporary until I buy a new one. I take full responsibility for it happening, but I rather that go instead of rolling down the hill sideways haha.

Also beginning to plan my 23rd birthday trip already! Going up the tele track, crossing off the cape from my bucket list.

Another shot from the front

Hey guys, been a while since I've posted, just been busy and haven't done a whole heap of things, since last time, I've added a few little additions to the car, a side awning for those days at the beach and a oversized UHF antenna that a mate gave to me. Also have a set of 9" hid xenons to chuck on once I find a suitable place to mount them haha! Led rock lights are on their way, and one of my mates is getting onto a near new 3" lift for me.

On the 4x4ing front I've mostly been tackling the usual tracks around here, while looking for the new spot here and there. Heading off for five rocks at by field national park tomorrow morning for a day trip with a few mates, 3 of which will probably have to be towed everywhere being those Toyota types ;). Should have plenty of photos and hopefully a few videos of it as well!

As for the future, instead of the cape next May, it's been change to Fraser Island, a full week of hitting the dunes!

But for now the rocks will do nicely!
