I have question for the people with dualcab gq's. Would you be able to fit 2 fullsize dirtbikes sideways across the tray at all? WHat about longways then adding an extension of the back of the tray to hold the rear wheel?

Definitely not a full size dirtbike sideways across the tray.... my dirtbike hangs over the rear edge of a 6 x 4 trailer, and will fit on the diagonal.
You are looking around 7 feet from front to back of the bike ( 2190mm long )

Depends if you have sides on the back, or have a flat tray
Any reason you wouldn't just use a twin tow bar dirt bike carrier?
I would have a camper on the back so cant mount it on the towball.
thought about extending the drawbar of the trailer?
Dont need to extend the drawbar as the bikes fit on it already.
yes so have i which is another idea i have come up with
tow hitch on back of trailer no good with the weight bouncing around off road. I have a wagon at the moment if i had a dual cab chop i wouldnt be asking here i'd just try it.
Comes down to 2 options i think as a dualcab chop still wont work. 1 options is 2 bikes on the drawbar, kids bikes on the top of the tent on a purpose built tilt away rack and mount one or two tyre on a rear swingaway carrier on the rear to counter the weight of the bikes. Prob here is whether or not the trailer is up to the task of the extra 300-400kgs(bikes plus the extra steel).
2. is to sell the patrol for a hilux or dualcab i can fit a bench front seat in and carry bikes in the ute and some on the trailer. Still has its flaws as i lose room for stuff in the boot and will be squashy in the front with 2 adults and 3 kids. Will also lose out heaps on the cash i've spent on the patrol.
If you are going to go the dual cab chop then it would be pretty easy.
1. Don't go a style side dual cab chop.
2. Custom make your new rear tray (you will have to anyway) to fit 2 dirt bikes across it.
Easy done.
So start with point 2. Get the tape out and the pen and paper. Measure your 2 bikes and stand them in a position on the ground how you want to pack them on the back of the car and start measuring. It's custom so anything can be done. Has it already been done???? Probably ;)
