Beachport / Robe Beach SA Christmas 2014

Hey guys

I am putting up a trip to Beachport / Robe for the Christmas break 2014. It will either be between Christmas and NewYear to return home in first week of Jan 2015 or starting 2nd Jan for a Week.

Beach and Sand Dune driving. Family beach fun, powered sites at the caravan park.

Who is interested? For which week? Need to book before the end of January to get some good space at a caravan park guys.

Yea fair call. So we aiming for a group lot? I think we stayed in beachport, a year ago. Heaps of open space. Beach across the road..
And was good prices. This was aus day long weekend though..

Mrs mudsane reckons the first week in January is the go for this trip. She is quite happy to go camping in the dunes. I can't say "Lock us in" at this stage as we usually have family staying with us. Maybe there could be two groups for this meet up. The 'chardonay' drinkers can go "real" camping in the caravan park, and the others to go camping in the dunes. Do you have in mind any particular place to camp, Kallen?

I am going to put this up with a group I am in in Geelong too and hope to get 5 or 6 cars from there and 10 or 15 cars from here, would be ideal to book a larger section at a caravan park with a place to light a fire and communal gathering area. Splitting into 2 groups would not be ideal I don't think to be honest.

I know it's Christmas and keen to take the camper and setup for a week of relaxation and community.

I am happy with the first week in January too but want to see some more feedback.

No worries, MR. I should've put LOL after the post. There is supposed to be some great driving in that area, and there is some good fishing spots as well.

No guarantees, BUT first week in Jan would be the only time suitable for us.

Sounds interesting.

Southend Caravan park has caravan and cabins but also a huge bush camping area so maybe possible to accommodate for all???

I reckon the inlaws would be in aswell..
We stayed at beachport and you close to lots of nice areas there. Twas the park. Mount g side of beachport..

I'm ganna have bugger all leave as I have 5 weeks off in July this year and have relos coming from overseas in Jan/Feb....I might have to put them off till next century maybe...LOL
I'm keen but can't confirm anything till later in the year

I'm also thinking Crayfish & Abalone, we dived the reef off Southend a few years ago and there was a nice feed.

Would love to be in this but unfortunately cannot commit that far ahead at present.

Will look at it closer to the date and maybe will be lucky to get in

1st of jan would be ok see how we go -you like putting your head on the chopping block mate
look at the middle meet 53 contenders now down to 8 or iflucky a few more

its a maybe

like all trips roofy, everyone would love to go but then reality bites and you only end up with a few hardcore members that dont like to miss anything and the other few that are lucky enough to be able to have the stars align so they can make it. Im the later one :) so far

understand that just seems a bit early for ppl to be able to decide while getting together for the simpson trip
as i said its a maybe for us and another goal to aim for

Yeap same as our Cape trip, we had 22 confirmed starters and ended with 7. Of those only 2 were forum members, things can change rapidly that's why I'm only a possibility.

i have chosen to post this now as its the Christmas break and without a booking in January we may struggle to get a decent spot for next year. many will book their site for next year on the way out this year.

I did not get away this year and have not been to Beach Port for about 5 years and Keen as Curry.

This is happening regardless, if your keen then put your names down. we will be looking for deposits in a few months i reckon to hold your spot.

If you ahve never done any Beach Work then this is one you should not Miss, The Best time!!! Sooooooo much fun!

THe run down the beach from Beach Port to Robe is 78kms on the beach and between the Dunes. All Terrains are fine and a good sense of humour.

Road tyres are fine to. What I used last time.

Just rang beachport cp, and advised to book by the end of Jan to secure a group plot.

Didn't ask about deposits or refunds if you cancel..

Yeah I'm keen but like other will not say I am coming for sure because of the Simpson trip and all.

Met with my group ion Victoria tonight and have 8 cars signed up for this trip here.

I have set the dates as Saturday 3rd Jan to Saturday 10th Jan 2015 depending on the availability of camp sites.

Just went through this thread and picked out the names and this is how i see it at the moment.
