gday Everyone
New to the forum! New to owning a patrol as well!
I just purchased a very clean GQ RXII. Clean when it comes to the body anyway.
I spent all of sunday removing the rocker cover & replacing a leaking gaskett.... lots of oil was coming out while I was in fuel mode, noticed a shizz load of oil coming from the back of the rocker cover down to the road.... Checked the oil after the gasket was replaced and found that the car was 2 litres over the max fill for oil!!!!!! WTF!? so needless to say we drained all of that sludge out and refilling it all this afternoon.
Gotta change a seal around the big ball looking thing where the steering rod connects to the wheel assembly cause that has a small leak.
I want to do a lot of upgrades, needs lift, gotta fix the spotties and stereo.
I'll take some pics and upload, i'm pretty excited about my new ride.
p.s i'm from East side of Melbourne

Cheers.
You don't know what part I'm looking for do you?
Regarding the seal around the big ball looking thing?
I need to know what to ask for when i go to the shop!

What you looking at is the swivel hub. The "wiper" isn't your problem, your problem is the axle seal, that's what needs replacing. Ill look for a link here with a good pictorial on how to pull apart

Thanks everyone, it seems there's a lot going on here and a lot of people around the area with a lot of know-how.
Just looking over those pics of the seals/bearings etc.... only problem is that the leak is coming from the back of the axle, not the front (where the wheel connects)..... I'm working on the fluids of the car this afternoon as well as replacing the exhaust manifold gasket, I'll post some pics of what I'm looking at in the drivetrain forum later this evening and see what yall can suggest then.
To the bloke who mentioned spending my $$ on the new ride..... yeah.... it's a bit of a bugger, but as long as I can work on the car myself it's money well spent.
