Hi All,
can any tell me what is the biggest diameter wheel I can put on an stock unraised patrol. cheers
I think the largest you can go is 33" overall diameter mate.
Thanks mate.I have an offset rim will that matter.
That is interesting, because the local tyre bloke reckons a 2'' lift is needed for me to fit 33s, or the front tyre will rub. Just a sales pitch?
Hi Mudnut is it worth getting a professional to do a lift I am pretty savy with a spanner how bad can I boch it?
GU or GQ?
I have 33's on my unraised GU and they fit fine, they do rub the mudflaps but nothing to be too concerned about.....
its a 94 GQ TD42.cheers
You can get away without the lift but 33s will scrub, it's best to get a 2in lift but even then they may still scrub, especially front mud guards

will they scrub on normal road driving or when your off road pushing your suspension.cheers
Yeah I have gone out with one of Kevs mates who has 33's on his standard height GQ with old springs..
AS for doing a lift yourself it is very doable at home but it helps to have a spring compressor.
On the road you'll be ok a part from lock to lock turning.... Tyres will scrub on the mudguard mounting bracket. I removed my mudguards an brackets, no more scrubbing. Me and my mate installed my 2in lift. Took a couple of hours but we had the use of a fork lift so we could do both side at the same time. Not a difficult job to do at all and I'm no spanner turner
