Hey been scrolling through the thread and can't really a find a place where people say what tyres they run off road n at what pressure in certain conditions.. Mud, bumpy fire trails, corrugated surfaces..?
I run 33 inch cooper stt and have yet to play to much with pressure but run 40 psi on road n I feel 30 on bumpy fire trails and with 25-20 psi on the more fun stuff works for me..
What do u run..??
40 on road and 16 front 14 rear on 35s
We do a lot of rock climbing and minimal fire trails.
Really depends! 42 on road, 30 in moderate off road and go down to 20 in the serious stuff. Never done sand driving but would probably go lower again.

40 on road 20 off road 15 on sand (mostly 40km speed limits) been to 10psi when really bogged in super soft sand

I run 35 in the 33x12.5 bighorns on road.
Haven't taken them off road yet cause I don't know anyone with a 4wd to tow me out if I need it where I moved to :-P

Similar to others here but you need to experiment as it does change from tyre to tyre
Currently on the BFG MT 33's
Road - 38
Dirt/Gravel - 28
Steep rocky stuff - 20
Sand - not really done but probably around 15
I run 33 pro comp extreme at's and run 38-40 on road and sit between 20-25 of road(ruts,rocks,mud), go lower on sand if needed.
Nah I just leave the 33s at 30 psi ready to rock and roll because I'm not too worried about wearing them out as its not a daily and they're not on all the time anyway

32 PSI for roads and deflate to 10 PSI (Rear) & 12 PSI (Front) for sand driving. Can go lower if required.
42 psi road use and average 20psi for bush but will go down to 18psi if real rocky
I have BFG AT's and run 40 on the road, 30 on the dirt and 15-20 in the sand. Have gone down to 10 to get out of bog.

I'll run 40 psi when going away {hwy}, 35-38psi around town
and 16 off road in rocky stuff, and if I forget compressor
30 psi and keep hwy speeds down. let cool then air up
I have seen sub 10's a few times but I do some pretty techical stuff sometimes. I really need to invest in some bead locks so I can run 5 psi :)

Also on 33...... Run 38 on road, 20 to 25 on rocks/mud (depending on conditions sometimes lower), 15 on sand and have been as low as 8 to get out of the real soft loose stuff.
Don't stroke it, TAP it!!!!.....

You guys that do 40 on road and 15 offroad, what would you use on Birdsville, Strezlekki or Oodnadatta Tracks?
I go 30 for those, would not want to run 15 at 80-90 Kph and would be to easy to get punctures at 40.
I find a lot of the tracks here that I do (which tend to be a lot of coastal stuff) it more depends on the weather and the amount of people that have tried and attempted to try them in the previous 24 to 48 hours. You can feel how the troll is reacting and how hard the engine is working and change accordingly. The pressures change all the time!!
I run 42 as I tow all the time (everyday) and I have gone through more tyres over the years than I care to think about.... before people start going on about towing there caravans and get big miles out of there tyres I tow around town and make many turns in a day.
Towing heavy trailer in the suburbs just kills tyres...... I have tried all different ways and know how to get the best out of my tyres, I have even under very heavy load run 46 in the rear for single trips.
I would never run anything less than 38 for normal road use but find the sweet spot is 40.
35inch maxxis trepadores. 40 onroad 18 on easy tracks 15 on harder tracks an 12 on extreme

Coopers have a tyre recommendation pressure chart I do believe.
I run Kumho muddies 33"
Road - 38-39 psi 40+ I find the ride unpleasant
Dirt tracks and rough unsurfaced roads - 28-34psi
Rocks and nasty tyre shredding terrain - 20 - 24 psi and slowly, minimal wheel slip
Sand - Beachport to Robe I dropped to 18 as the sand was SOOOOOFFFFT.. in places along the beach.
Through Simpson last year I sat on 20psi most of the sand, Oodnadatta track sat on mid 30's.
32psi road, and 4-8psi offroad.
But we all dont run monster truck wheels on bead locked rims.. :pQuote:

I have the Cooper SST 33's as well and am usually carrying a lot of weight.
Look at your tyre max psi... On the SSTs, I think they are only rated to 38psi so on-road, I use 32psi.
Firm off-road- around 20-25psi depending on corrugations etc.
Playing in the sand dunes/ soft sand- 10-12psi.
I find the SST's on 15inch rims really bag out well.
Don't inflate over recommended rating as they can let go in spectacular fashion.
