if that Carby is off a TB42 then have a look at the GQ Manual mate.
otherwise google the name of the manual from the bottom corner of that page??
??????
,,,....................
Hey dom that looks like an rb30 carby? What sort of info are you chasing? There was a recent thread involving a rebuild of an rb30 carby, nit sure what it was called.but you'll find it if you use the search function. Same goes for a TB42 carby, there are a few threads with common questions and problems....
FanTapstic!
I got both factory manual and haynes manual for GQ. Can't find above pages there. I found these three pages a life saver for my carby job.
But, can do with all the pages.
Any of you guys can help me with the gregories GQ manual?! I think, the above pages may be from gregories, but that's a guess.
Cheers
BTW, I couldn't get the manual name from the bottom of the page mate, it's not there.
Yes, mate. I spent a great deal of time on this forum with old carby related threads. but couldn't find anything like the three pages above.
There's nothing like having a good repair manual mate. I'm no carby specialist. I would love to get hold of the above manual.
Cheers
Which engine have you got? What info are you after?
I will tell you. But, promise me you are not going to get upset with me. :)
It's an RB30.
But, I believe TB or TD carby engines might have come with the same carby.
Can you help with this manual, mate?!
I'm happy to buy or pay somebody if necessary.
But, don't even have a clue about the name of the manual.
I'm after all the information about the carby part and the vacuum line part of this manual.
I'm hoping to know it back to front as it's been driving me crazy lately with multiple problems.
EFI conversion is not an immediate option for me, but will be eventually.
Thanks mate
You need Alitis007. George is your man mate. Got RB30s in his blood mate. I will alter the thread name and George may see it and give you a hand mate.
Nothing wrong with rb30s mate, they go hard. The carby is different from a TB engine and the TD engines are diesel so no carb.
There are heaps of aftermarket bits for the rb30 engines as they are found in skylines and vl Commodore and are very popular performance engines.

Hey mate a quick google for that byline and I found something on an RX7 forum about Nikki Carbs. Looks like a great 97 pages on this Brand carb, maybe not this exact unit but you should find its very very similar.

Thanks mate. Yes, I caught up with George over the weekend. He had a quick look and gave me some valuable tips.
I'm about to open up the carby again and do it all over as I made few monumental mistakes(using silicone to settle the gaskets, possible misfitting of internal springs, not doing the jets, etc). Have to stuff up few things to learn, ha?! :)
I think once I've done that and fit it back, will give George a call and see if he could give me few more tips to get it right.
Cheers
The RB30 & TB42 carbys are simlar (they both use the same carby kit) Whne I rebuilt my TB42 I had an old rb30 carby that I used as a comparison.
Hey mudrunner can you get Alitis007 this george bloke to assist me with my rb30s woes aswell. This bloody patrol I've got will be the end of me if i cant get the thing running right.
If it helps anyone i just pulled my rb30s carb completely to bits, gave all the jets and hoses a good spray with carby clean and a blow out with the air compressor. I concluded the needle and seat in these carbies are just about indestructable the needle is more ball bearing design instead of a pointed tip which increases its durability. I thought my performance issues was carby related and considered replacing needle and seat until I noticed the durable design and left them be.
The carby clean and reset floats stoped the pop/crackle through exhaust when going down gears. Apart from this and smoother acceleration no other changes notice in performamce.
I put a carby repair kit through it. It came with needle, few balls, all the gaskets, etc. I made the 'mistake' of using gasket sealant between the bottom carby compartments.
I'm about to pull it apart again and do an even better job with high spray cleaning with carby cleaner etc.
I will let you know how it goes.
Cheers
