Hi
Hey guys,
Just before Christmas I got my first 4X4. After looking around for a fair while I narrowed it down to a cruiser or patrol and decided on the patrol after reading this forum.
I knew I wanted a GU and was considering diesel but ended up finding a 98 petrol/gas model with only 94000k and one owner.
I plan on taking it off road a bit and also towing my camper on long trips.
In under a month it's now just ticked over the 100k mark as I'm lucky enough to live in an area good for 4wding so have covered about 3000k off road and a 3000k trip towing the camper up the east coast over Christmas.
Don't have any major plans yet but got the windows tinted yesterday and may go for a lift and bigger tyres.

Welcome mate. Nice rig. Very clean.
6000k in a month.. not a bad way of breaking the ice with it...
What sort of economy are you getting so far?

Thanks guys.
I'm getting just over 20ltr per 100k on gas but I've either been towing or off road.
It's been we'll looked after but I did valve clearances just before the big trip and rocker cover leaked for the 3000k :(
And also while investigating oil leak I must have split an already weak rubber gas hose that caused some dramas as nothing was available over Christmas/new year and I was far from home.
All fixed now and now it's done 100k I'm looking at a decent service.
Was thinking penrite hpr gas for engine oil. Any recommendations on the other oils as ill change the lot? It's manual
