Hi Lou & Stan, Nissan patrol diesel 2.8L owners
Hi,
My name is Louise, my hubby is Stan, we live near Grafton, NSW. A few years ago we bought a lovely nissan patrol 2.8L diesel , and have done it up so it is pretty good. Now we have an undiagnosed problem with it. It is making a loud tapping sound which goes faster with higher rev's. Oil pressure is fine, but is now blowing white smoke. Three mechanics are saying they don't know what the problem is, so they tell us we should get a new engine!! It has 245,000 km's on it and has been kept in good shape. Can anyone give us some advice? We need some guidance, as we are not overly mechanical ( I am a science teacher, hubby is a horticulturalist). Cheers, Lou
