Pedders suspension lift 2" ish :)

I did my 2" body lift a few weeks back and have now got my coils and shocks :santa:

It stopped raining here for what I'm told was summer yesterday afternoon, so I rushed out and fitted them :Yahoo!:
It's all Pedders stuff as mainly the only reasonably priced stuff I could find in the UK. Went for longer shocks and heavy duty front coils to carry winch bumper and winch. The back end is stripped out and no load so ordinary version at the back. About 2" lift from stock was to be expected. My old springs were a bit sad so I actually gained 3" :animierte-smilies-t

While I was there the old ARB gubbins got binned too :)
The front end was a complete pain in the arse mind, the shocks were rust welded together !? Took a while with mini grinder to cut the buggers out. Got there in the end nearly 2 hours later.........

Also binned the front ARB stuff too. Took it for a spin to settle things in and then stuck the fork lift under the old girl to see how high it would go :biggrin:

I've got castor correction bushes to fit next but wondered about the bushes at the end of the hockey stick. Are there any better ones of those to help with the flex?

Looks great mate, I'd be driving around for a bit to figure out if you even need to bother with the caster correction bushes. The best bush is the Nissan Bush. If you can leave them in DO!

Did you have a spring compressor for that? I'm looking at doing my lift myself but i don't think i can get my hands on a spring compressor and i don't know how to do it otherwise :p

Nah you dont need a spring compressor for a 2" lift mate.

Crack the drag link and disconnect the sway bars and you will be able to lift the car and drop the diffs way way far enough to stand back and throw them in from a metre away and not miss. ;)

You dont need a spring compressor for most lifts i fitted 5" flexy coils without them if you get stuck remove front bolt on passenger radius arm this will allow front to drop a lot further :)

I've gotta get a hi lift and some stands first! haha. hell of a lot cheaper to do it yourself though.

Chassis stands under rails, wheels off, unbolt swaybars,shocks, etc stand on hub in like flynn !

That's what we did , a quick bounce and a squeez and bob's your fanny's aunt ;)
Did this to the old girl at the weekend so it does work and not bothered with the correction bushes either.

I had a bit of a misshap while "testing" the new suspension :SNruQWn369624407:
Managed to park the old girl right into a tank trap and bashed in the front panel and wing :oops:

So this weekend me and my mate took his winch to my Trol's special eye.With the front panel off the extent of the damage was evident :redface:

A quick lace up with a bit of rope attached to 3 points where the front cross member was bent and then a snatch block and 8 tonnes of winch pull should do it :thumbup: Tied the back of the Trol to a gate post and engage winch man :devilred: Delivered a few well aimed blows with my friend Mr Hammer while under tension sorted things a treat.
