Its a cheap way to get some very decent light output.. Those Narva 175 Spotlight's were best value light under $200, one of the boys at my workshop has them fitted with 35w HID kits and they work very very well..
100W HID kits would be better however produce alot more heat so there is a chance with extended use that it would burn the reflector in the back of the light itself.. The highest i would be fitting are 55w HID which should be quite fine..

i choose the 100 watt coz i dont have the money for a light bar atm any idea on the odds that it would burn the reflector
i want to get this as said b4 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H3-HID-Ki...item4aaea1ed5a now it says with 55w i can use the std loom what i want to know are the wires in this kit an upgraded loom and if not what is it i need to upgrade plz i cant work it out and if its going to be to hard ill just go the 55w
55w will be heaps mate i got 50w hids on my gu and its nearly to bright when you are facing reflective signs

I would think that the chances of the 100w HID kit burning the reflectors would be pretty high.. The 100w HID kit does require a good wiring loom however if you haven't had driving lights before then you would need to wire them up anyways regardless if you get the 55w or 100w kits

mate of mine done this with very similar products a few years ago. Same Narva lights, similar type hid kit. He is now onto the 5th or 6th ballast.
Also, the lights that were on the troll when I bought it had hid conversion kit in them, they are unreliable. Theyre only there til I can afford something better.
so worth getting a better quality kit then i guess
I have never been a fan of Narva products, this stems from when they where first released and their quality was terrible. I believe the quality may have improved now.

55w HID is plenty, incredibly bright and it not only reminds other drivers to dip their high beam lights very quickly, you can see the look of horror on their faces just before their hair starts sizzling.
I've had those 100 watt HID kits and there rubbish. The bulbs start to come loose in there housing which make it look like you have loose spot lights. Also neither light looks the same colour. I just finished removing the last of them about an hour ago and fitted 70 watt internal ballasts to my new lights.
I'd personally buy a 70 watt hid kit with the little silver ballasts as there a much better quality ballast and so much more reliable. You can get them to fit pretty much any light but I don't think you could fit them internally to the Narvas your buying.

These are the ones I'm talking about. There also the only guy who sell the ballasts that I would trust in H3. I had a lot more options with the H9s and H4s I've got before. This bloke is very well priced compared to others.

HIDs dont put out anywhere near the heat of halogen bulbs mate so should be fine.
I cant be 100% sure with Narvas as I've never converted a set to HID myself. It's not the heat that stuffs them it's the UV rays as it's much higher in HID apparently. Do a bit of a google search and see what you find but I've personally never heard any bad feed back about them failing after being converted to HID so I think you will be right. Make sure you use a wiring loom and relay thats up to the job and everything should be sweet.
The only lights I've had problems with is the Light force Genesis which have a habit of shattering lens. I've had a couple do it which is why I've recently replaced them. I'd never touch another set of these.

cheers was just making sure coz earlier was told the 100w would prob stuff reflectors
Those cheap 100 watt HIDs only put out about 80 to 85 watts anyway so you would be lucky to spot the difference between those 70 watt and the 100 watt ballasts anyway.

Dan, I'd be interested to know how you got on with your lights. I'm in the same boat, looking for a good set of spots at a reasonable price. I have not embraced the HID technology yet but probably about time I did. Are you happy with the Narva/55W HID combo?
he hasnt recieved em yet and dont think you will get any feed back anytime soon. hes in a jam atm non car related.
I have standard IPF's that Nissan put on and about 3 years ago young bloke in a Nissan dealership spare parts suggested the HID conversion kit for about $220. They are 35 watts and they are absolutely BRILLIANT in every way. Took me about 90 minutes to install and I'm no auto electricianQuote:
