Hi from Torch.
20 years driving gq & gu patrols.Owned my 99 GU 4.2 turbo diesel since new. Lots of hard 4wding in Vic high country ,sand and beach driving and pulling caravans around Oz. Has never liked pulling the van up long hills and temp gets to 110 degrees . (Still in the normal needle range on a patrol).
New van is 2.5 ton . Original clutch 230,000 ks is starting to burn on some of these hills, but otherwise still working well.Need more power & torque but am dubious about bigger turbo or more boost and not convinced intercoolers add much to the standard Nissan turbo. I'll be trolling the forum for ideas and experiences. Cheers to all . Torch.

Welcome to the forum and great to have you hear. I take it you live in Vic?
I'm an ex pat myself but never looked back as I wandered over to the wild West, lol.
Take care out there.
