2009 patrol help, (long post) loss of power, now won't start. Stuck in Alice!!
Hi all. Soo I was en route to Uluru in my 2009 CRD via kings canyon towing a pop top camper. In the morning the patrol took a bit to start (trying to recall if it did the day before but can't). Got to kings and the indicator flashed on and off and when I took the key out the buzzer still sounded as if lights were on. Found the trailer adapter had a melted earth wire (later found earth wire all the way to the rear lights had melted all through camper). Disconnected plug, fuelled up 30km down road and trol wouldn't start without priming (priming bulb never went firm). 100km down road engine light came on power lost and cut out. Reprimed, restarted and drove about 5km. Lost power and engine would not start. Tried emptying filter (new 5000km earlier) no good. Had to get towed to ayres rock autos. Codes on their reader were 1089 (fuel pump) and 0093 fuel leak (prob from me roadside flushing filter). $1500 later they advised couldn't fix, could only start with brake cleaner sprayed in air filter. $2200 tow to Alice springs Nissan and they are saying they don't know the prob but nissan procedure is start with replacing fuel rail ($2000 + labour) if that doesn't fix then fuel pump ($4000 + labour) and one other part after that (don't know what that is yet).
I have been reading everything about fried ecu, loose earths on Maf sensor where do I start?? Stuck in caravan park in Alice and don't have $10k to get nissan to guess with!!!
