Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum have been on patrol4x4 forum for a few years though. I have a Nissan patrol GQ shorty with after market turbo TD42 with all the gear on it. I am a motor mechanic by trade. I enjoy camping & long drives, love the outdoors & fishing. Travel around QLD & NSW all the time doing Archery comps for the last 13 years. Hi guys, I'm a compounder as well Gecko. LOL Have shoot recurve also. I've got a build thread on patrol 4x4 forum but not on here yet, look under my user name Lightspeed for it if your interested. Will do one on here in time. Got my user name from a brand of arrow I was shooting at the time couldn't think of another name at the time LOL
Just a sum up of my shorty GQ for those that are interested :
It's a 1991 GQ short wheel base with a TD42 silver top engine with a GU turbo head, full rebuilt. UFI 18g turbo, cross country top mount intercooler & DC6 pump. It has all superior heavy duty arms & EFS 2" suspension with air bags. Heavy duty white line sway bars with factory disconnect on rear & superior front disconnects.
Two Longranger fuel tanks, tower braces from superior engineering. Front bull bar with 9500# winch , rear bar with twin jeri cans & spare wheel carrier (or could carry 2 wheels). Endless air tank & pump, black widow draws, front diff locker & factory LSD in rear. Heavy duty superior CVs & axles. My favorite mod is the fiber glass rooftop tent with 2 x 100watt solar panels & fold down 26" LED TV/DVD & satellite TV. (Great on those cold wet nights LOL)
The shorty is running 33 Mickey thompsons on 15" wheels to keep the boys in blue happy.
