How about register all bikes and use the money to widen the road and give them their own lane .

A good point made though, please all do be careful getting up here for AB's donk party, slow and steady, brakes ready!!

I never complain about cyclists on windy roads as these guys are really fit and have good organs just waiting to be donated to people like me. ;)

Yeah good call. I'm far from anti Lycra or whatever its called, but its an issue that need to be looked at more closely. I suppose it like any activity. Theres always a minority who makes it look bad for the lot.

Agreed Mark, and in the situation of idiots going off track 4wdriving and leaving rubbish behind I totally agree they make us all look bad. This particular cycling situation on extremely dangerous roads should be fully banned on this stretch and many others much the same as the Widowmaker at Wonnangatta Station was excavated to impossible and legally closed off for safety reasons years back. Unfortunately it also took deaths to raise awareness and action!

In Canberra most of the city roads have been modified to accomodate cyclists, I wonder how much the car owners are paying for this shit through the rego.
Charge the fukers to use the roads as well if they are intended for both purposes!

Yes I know the argument will be to reduce pollutions, but really?

Friends of ours are bike riders and often are up around your neck of the woods MB. Must ask them on their thoughts on this matter.
Haven't asked before because I don't want to get into an argument with them, but it time to find out.
