My group will have 4 cars, we will do geocentre and geo survey hill, intence 4wd and no tracks, anyone is welcome to join us but capped at 6 cars.
What are the thoughts on exhaust jacks? Never used one or seen one being used, do people still have/use them.
I have the stock Nissan bottle jack and that has worked for me in the past, but how will it go on the sand? I also carry a timber foot plate probably about 200x200x50.

I am taking my 21ft caravan with me.
I had an exhaust jack years ago. It was great, easy to use and safe. It hit the exhaust pipe one day and got a hole in it, so that's one issue. Other issue was it tended to become dirty from exhaust gas, which is pretty yucky stuff. But it always worked great, gave plenty of height and always felt safe.
I just have the standard patrol jack and a block of wood, like MB now. If I need to go higher, I use more wood.
After camp 16, are you folks going via Adria Downs (with permission of course) or via the Hay River Track? And why that choice please?
Bern there in 2012, just had to get permission from Aboriginal land council
So we loaded up for a quick overnight get away / shake down..
Fully loaded we were 3.3T... fk.
Probably 70kg of crap will go out, firewood, dog and stuff.
But need to add 20L of fuel, bigger fridge and more food / tools.
So all in all I think I'll be bang on GVM, if not just a touch overhttps://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/foru...2024/03/61.jpghttps://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/foru...2024/03/62.jpghttps://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/foru...2024/03/63.jpg

Relatively easy to extend/shorten or remove on the run when needed due to higher driving speeds or dune peak heights [emoji106][emoji106]

Getting closer guys 3 mths away, I hope you are all at least 90% organised as it’s coming fast.
I am going to head up early so I can be in NT for NT day fireworks on the 1st.
Just added the Bushwakka Awning on the car today, hate the look of it but it will stay on until the trip then it will be stored in the garage.
Waiting on delivery of a 120ah lithium battery to go in the portable battery box for use as a temporary dual battery system. https://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/foru...024/04/129.jpg

Yep me too.
Lots of man hours and $$$ have gone into my patrol recently.
Then there's the little extras to make the trip more comfortable. It's a spending spree, but a long overdue one. Have a few goodies coming my way.
I've never done longer trips than a week, so I'm setting up for longer remote trips like this. Guys I've got out with regularly are planning a Flinders rangers trip next year, so I should have everything I need.
