Spoke to a few blokes today Winnie who don't like our chances of getting to the Pinnacles due to the snow depth so I guess we'll see .
Mudrunner- via Rosedale is probably the simplest way to Heyfield so I'd go with that , it'll be a steady trip to Licola if your kids get car sick - 10mins out of Heyfield it gets very windy all the way to Licola - with a couple of short straight sections along the way . It's about 45 mins from Heyfield to Licola .
@MudRunnerTD if your kids get sick mate give them a Quell tablet. My youngest takes half a tab and it does wonders for her travel sickness.
Any idea what the closet service station is? Just trying to suss out if I'll need to bring any spare fuel.
There is petrol and diesel in Licola but it is dear as poison. There is also fuel in Heyfield.
I would fill up in Traralgon for sure mate, maybe top up in Licola if you think you will need to.
@Winnie hey mate i know we just spoke but ive had a look and im not going anywhere near traralgon. does anyone know what would be the last major town for me? last few towns im going through are heyfield, maffra, stratford and bairnsdale, any ideas?
Not long to go now gents!
Weather looks perfect so far, we are up for fluffy dumps this week and so far the weekend looks good for us weather wise...
Yeah can't wait. Filled both tanks on the weekend before the price went up 20c p/l. We obviously need to bring sleeping bags etc etc. No heating in the rooms too? Sorry, never been there and I'm getting hammered with questions here.
Go a little easy on the old girl I hear :-( !

We will all have the 300L cauldron for kiddy's water bottles if needed ;-) !!
Heyfield has the cheapest fuel around - diesel was 1.15 when I fueled the truck tonight & they're open till 8pm every night. Last major town before heading nth to Licola , like Winnie said there's petrol & diesel at Licola ( no gas ) but it's dear
( captive market ) . If you fill up at Heyfield you'll have plenty for the weekend I rekn .
Heyfield Rusty ol mate . What's you're plan of attack ? I know it's a long drive for you , you can stay at my place Thursday night if that makes it any easier for you ? Not sure how early you can get away Thursday though . Get my number off 🆎 if you want to work out something.
Thanks for the generous offer mate! Well be leaving Friday morning very early so all good. See ya there mate. Just had a look Last registered diesel price at heyfield was 117 it's pretty much the same as everywhere else guys.

If you fill up there mate you won't need any more for the weekend.
Worst case scenario, if you do need more you can just get some in Licola.
Apparently the Licola shop has a new owner now too.
There would have been a nice blizzard up in the mountains last night!
Hey @Winnie, can you bring evidence that your club got quoted a cheap price mate, I think no one should pay until the price is locked down, there seems to be a number of different figures.
Note also, last year the room I had had no real heater, I bought a small blow heater with me. Everyone should bring a heater. My room also Had No PowerPoint! I recommend a short extension lead each and a power board if you want to charge your phones and run the heater.
It was a phone conversation unfortunately.
i think they may have updated their pricing structure since the last time someone visited, the prices are listed on their website and it mentions new prices as of 1 january 2016

it does say there are discounts for group bookings though, would you like me to ring up and ask what qualifies for a group booking?
I just spoke to my mate who is going with another big group this weekend and he said they were told the prices had gone up and it's now $44 per person as well.
i enquired through my school. the discounted rate is only $39.60 for adults and $24.30 for kids. thats assuming a total number of 50 people, not sure if its worth pursuing for the discount of $4.60
Is anyone bringing their dogs? I had a quick look around and apparently the place is pet friendly and I was planning on letting my two sleep in the car.
Hahaha, that story will never die
Maattteee it was a beautifully marbled King island steak he'd been waiting to easy for about a week and your pup demolished it in about 3 seconds lol. Suffice to say everyone ELSE was thoroughly entertained for the rest of the night lol

You're not bringing your dog now AB ? Well that is disappointing to hear ha ha
No dramas Nic , the offers there if you need it mate .
Is that price per night or for the weekend?
