I can’t believe the hype on the telly about the temp. They are calling it a heat wave. WTF?! It’s one day. A heat wave is more than one day of heat. Snowflakes...

FFS the carrying on about the weather today is ridiculous. First item on the tv news, major topic of conversation on the radio. Jeez it got to high 30s, low 40s across Melbourne with a cool change early afternoon. I was out working in it no problem and I'm a fat prick. We get this every bloody summer, just stop the bull5hit hysteria. Last year I was working in constant mid 40s day in day out up in western qld. Nobody says anything coz that's just how it is. Media needs to grow up.
I think the problem is not everyone is as well insulated as you mate haha. No honestly the weather today wasn't that bad, the cloud cover made it a much more bearable day than yesterday. I spent most of the day outside, finished the cubby house and even mowed the lawns.

Been a few interesting days at work. But it's about to go up a notch or seven this evening.
Charge up your back-up torches for those in Melb. Let me give you the drum.

it's the end of the world ... repent .. repent ... or just get more firewood.
Yeah pretty wild lots a flooding coming back though the Yarra Valley from the south end, reckon rivers will get up to levels they haven't been at since the last big one in the 90s. . .

We’ve only had 77mls at home , water laying everywhere but not in the house , Traralgon is a mess, I’ve never seen it like that , 260mls in the hills around there , 300+ at mt baw baw .
Serious carnage out our way. SES etc clearly all have their hands full so our neighbourhood all pitched in and cleared the road for majority of people. Several houses are a write off, fortunately our house was left untouched but I would say over 75% of our neighbours have had damage to there house/property in some way, we are just very lucky. Carnage!!!http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/53.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/54.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/55.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/56.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/57.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/58.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/59.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/60.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/61.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/62.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/63.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/64.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/65.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/66.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/67.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...2021/06/68.jpg

Brother lives in Olinda and has been off the air for 3 days. His house is fine, house 3 doors down has a monster gum right thru the centre of the house to the floorboards. His estimation is that 50% of the trees have come down and those that remain have no leaves, especially in the direction towards the south - Belgrave and Upwey. Total carnage is an understatement. Trees standing for a 100yrs, trunks the thickness of a car are over the roads. All 3 access routes are heavily restricted access, but you can bet by the weekend the rubber necks will be up there, bogging things down or the thieves will start arriving, or the little old couples looking for a scone and cup of tea, going to be very difficult for these communities.
Expecting more big rains tonight which will lead to flooding tomorrow again.
Poor old Gippsland has been copping drought, fires, covid and now floods.

The Yarra at the Glen has this afternoon broken its moderate flood level and expected to rise up to another 1.0m overnight according to the CFA [emoji51]

On a positive note, fixed the King’s generator stupid electronic throttle control so we can save a few hundred dollars worth of meat in the freezer:

No sleep for the wicked Marko mate !! lol
Although things were non stop ,we didn't cop it as hard as the brothers in other areas...
Time to rest now me thinks. When you get home and your son gives you the "Who are you?" look, you know it's time to hang up the belt for a bit...
Fingers crossed you get your 240 back soon mate.
Thanks Hodgey Mate, rest well and be sure to thank your Brothers too, we’re back on a week earlier than expected [emoji120][emoji106][emoji106]

Have had zero intentions of visiting the worst hit areas but was called up to assist hauling out a piece of broken forestry equipment on our tilt tray. As slow as shit as the old Acco is still couldn’t get to site in a timely manner due to a 2” clearance’Maserati’ and multiple cyclists and even a hardened bikey on his Yamaha Viagra all rubber neck goorking their way through the poor Dandenongs.

Comes with the job my friend Marko mate. Thankful gratitude is received most of the time.
Other times we get our faces chewed of, because someone's 2yo daughter can't play Xbox at 1am...
Frankly, chatting amongst our selves today, we haven't seen this amount of havoc, since we got sent up north to assess black saturday damage up in the hills... Moist soiled large trees deciding to rest upon the lines all over the place. Something I've never seen in this scale before. Quiet honestly, I've used the chainsaw more in the last 4-5 days than I have in my entire life prior. Stihl got it !!! *flex*
Quiet honestly the unsung heroes here are the true blue legends of SES... Tell ya what... take my hard had off and bow to them any moment of the day.
