Its always good when boxes turn up mate!
Just fitted it and man o man feels so much nicer, now I gotta get up to 80kph and see how she feels.
Biggest difference I found after replacing the 18 year old factory fitted one was the steering wheel actually came back after a tight turn.
got the wheels balanced this morning, aparently they were pretty badly un balanced. I fitted the new damper last night, and took it for a test drive after everything this morning... HALLELUJAH!!!! Wheel shakes are gone! the car feels so much smoother too without the RTC Damper on.
i also fitted some new struts to the bonnet as the old ones were stuffed and cleaned the battery terminals and sprayed them with protectant thingy. its nice to have everything working nice and good!
good stuff rusty, nothing worse than the bluddy wobbles

Nice work Nic! If you need a hand just swing by mate, I'm getting a bit handy at pulling these Datsuns apart ... and more importantly getting them back together. Haha
Thanks mate! Should be right, I don't need much help, it's just a few bolts. I don't need cutting and shutting with my bulbar

Tyre size?.
He's running 33's 285/75/16
Quite a few suspension places just use the same part numbers for springs on GQs/GUs now
4" Q is roughly 3" U what clunk says is true that's why they ask you the model weight purpose etc etc to get the spring rate right for your application

what do you guys know about fox shocks are they any good? ive just been offered a set of 14" travel fox shocks for $400(roughly) i know i need longer shocks but would this be too much?
I have 14 inch shocks in the rear. You'll really have to shoe horn 14s in the front of yours
Thats pretty cheap for a set, make sure they arnt buggered
Hmm so I missed out on those shocks. Another offer of brand new shocks and springs for 880. Dobinsons. Any good or not worth it?

yeah that price is for shocks and springs. i knew they wouldnt be comparrable but they arent crap right?
edit: oh yeah i need springs, mine are pretty sagged. im sitting at about 3" atm. i compared it to rocket, who has 3" and it was taller although his lift wasnt brand new either.
They should be right for what you need if they are new
sweet! thanks mate
Jesus mate just had a read through all this , Christ you're a lot calmer than me , if the thing blowing up wasn't enough , the financial strain + not having your car for that long would be enough for me to lose my shit .
