Heres a handy gadget for your folder

That is sweet TD, will have a look at them properly.
@HL - yup I am on AB forum as well, some good info and lots of experienced makers on there as well. Bit pricey for their gear though
@ OD they also sell a small brass clip that does the same thing, postage is the killer there
Not sure tbh, gonna see if I can tap into a few contacts and see what they use
@ OD as I'm not up to par with folders , how hard would it be to change blades?
want to buy a 110 Buck and fit a Damascus blade to is, which you can buy. easy yes or,,,,,,
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221085421...84.m1423.l2649
Sweet. It will depend on how the bolsters are fastened. The 2 I am making at the moment have a single pin in the top bolster which also secures the blade and the bottom bolster has 2 pins securing the bottom back spring in place.
If you can see the pins then very easy to replace, bit harder if the pins are hidden inside as part of the top boslter unless the top bolster is only a civer for show then it should pop off
Epoxy resin has dried, time for grinding of pins, shaping of scales before finishing off bolsters. Then onto shaping the blade edge and polishing.
Size comparison against my 3 inch and 2.5 inch Winchesters
That's a big arsed pocket knife, ay
5 inch in total closed
Sent from my iPad using Motorculture mobile app

EDIT, you could make finger grips like link
Nice buck. It is possible that it was used as a template by Rough Rider.
I have 3 more kits coming as well
I like that size myself, next week I'll buy a 110.
sent a question to the mob I brought the Winchester 2013 off.
They say limited edition, of how many I would like to know
Must've missed the post on your winchester, got a pic at all? I know they have bought a few limited edition runs out over the last few years seeing as the are mostly made by Gerber / Fiskars now
The Winchester is a well weighted knife suitable for any camp duty you throw at it
.fixed blade
Plus some pics of my sons 110 Buck gee it's a great knife everything just feels right.
I'll buy my 110 from the States I may have better resale value as a collector
Keep it up the top heres the Buck 110 one big folder that's for sure ,but it feels just right in the hand
Thats a biggun
Sure is heres my Bowie that arrived this morning what a beast, didn't think it was so big,
blade alone is 14". I'll have a play later and see who made it, absolute horse of a thing.
I'll get a better pic as well

By Thunder 3D, now that's what I call a knife!
Bloody Awesome!
Check link to Bowie knife History, I remember all this from watching JIM bowie as a kid.
Basically its a short sword for knife fighting the original knife had the brass strip to catch a blade when fending off a blow.
It also had a "Spanish Notch" on the back of the cutting edge to break opponents blades.
Good read about the Sand bar fight when he beat 3 attackers thus the Bowie knife was born
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowie_knife
Must check the guard all references say gold plated.
I changed the link to what my knife looks like, it has a story on Jim Bowie and the Alamo
very interesting reading
Very interesting article 3D. Answered my question to as to why they had either brass or copper on the edge...
I also saw that your one is hi-lighted with Gold plate. Gotta say that I reckon the gold looks better as I am now considering getting one as well....
Heres one that's different a RH knife these go for Thousands of $$$$$ for folded steel one.
notice how one side is flat these knives are razor sharp

@OD that 110 and saw went for over $200
@HL they are made by Gil Hibben, I'll see if I can find some links
Then there is the Arkanas Tooth pick Knife

Good news for me the guy I got the bowie off found the COA, so the value has upped a little.
Very happy with that also asked if it ever had a brass spine
Just checked global way too exensive that ak-47 bayonet is only $15 and comes in 3 sizes,
even the Gil Hibben are $100s over what others are asking, think a lot are Pakistan knives
yeah I love the way one door opens another and so on, can find some awesome stuff
Looking at my folder yesterday and it said Shelham hi-stainless then the magic word "Australia"
Makes for interesting reading too it has Eagle written on the blade.
I found this on the road back in '82 brand new, think it fell out of a bikies jacket or such.
Point being never knew Aust had folding knives .I'll put pic here soon Blade is just under 3"
I remember as a kid back in NZ, someone (winchester I think) brought out a whole series of 3in folders with all types of farming/fishing scenes on the handles (and yes, before you say it, mostly had sheep on them...) but I wasn't allowed to buy one as I was too young. Wish I had've as they were great little knives.
KIWI eh Nah all go one of my bff is Moaroi.
Thanks for that info too, now every one wants a turn @ blood pressure LOL
