well done boys ill have a beer for you
BA & Mudski at work in the +40c heat today. Good to see BA put the beer straight into the fridge and wasn't tempted.
Yeah but I had to beat Mudski away from my fridge!!!!!!
We waited (most of us) until we had finished then had a beer as we talked shit..... Thanks for the slab Jack.
I dont want to rush but I need to get on with work and also next week have to empty out my mums house which is a nightmare.
Thanks again guys for your help today.
Lol. You beat like a girl. I still got to your fridge. It was 40c too and i needed to be hydrated.
G'day Lads,
All the best today with the install, i really feel for you folks, with all the bloody hot weather that has struck you folks.
PS, keep re-hydrated with the beer that Apollofish supplied, if you have already run-out, please contact Apollofish ASAP, as he will deliver you lads another carton free of charge! lol
Regards,
RLI
I will be not doing anything today as I have a sick little boy to look after and Margherita and Erica are off to a kids party.
Pretty much stuff all sleep to so brain is not plugged in!!!
Might potter later today when family comes back and cool change comes, if it does??
You blokes are keen as mustard doing that in this weather. Glad to see it's all happening BA.
After mags and erica got back I got outside for 2hours and finished getting the engine together.. still need to install the new clutch but cannot do this until its off the engine stand and on the crane.
Do some small jobs during the week and hope to have next weekend to put all the big gear back in..
Today I managed to get the gas tank out and also the long range tank and was thinking about the 2 tank set up and wanted to know as my long range tank is already set up could I just use the original tank as the aux???
This would be so much easier and quicker to do??? any thoughts.
Could you take advantage of the wiring for the gas to get a normal 95L tank and run the two tanks completely separate?
I wouldn't a clue how it would work but surely you could grab a standard 95L tank with fuel pump and use the gas wiring to switch between the two tanks? Somehow.
This is my plan when I get it done. Just run 2 Fuel solinodes (feed and return), and a twin pole switch thingy'ma'bob so you run the solinodes of one side and your Fuel gauge off the other..
This way both tanks are activated via switch.
But I can see why George says about over filling the sub maybe. You'll have to check heights to be sure..
Another way you could setup is a simple fuel pump on a switch. So fuel transfers from sub to main. Join both tanks via a top balance line so if you forget your transferring the over flow from the smaller tank keeps circulating until you turn the pump Off..
A switch with a light to show activation would be recommend I'd think..
Possibly also a low Fuel cut off so you don't burn out the pump..
I have already purchased what I was told I needed by Patrolapart??
Now this is where I think I have been given a bum steer.... In my LR tank I have a high pressure pump built into the gauge and now they have given me.. one lower pressure inline pump (3-5psi) as the transfer pump.
Now the high pressure pump I have will not fit into the set up they have given me?? as I never had an original tank and pump set up I am not 100% sure what was there.
I got the twin filler neck and all the hoses to plumb it but dont think I have the right pump set up... confusing?
BA,
Seems like you have a main fuel pump for the main tank, and a smaller transfer pump to transfer from the Sub to the Main, just like a GU...
Twin fillers as you have a fill hose to each tank.
Mic
GU uses the same fuel pump for standard and long range main tank and I remember the GQ did the same
All the research I have done points to them giving me a fuel sender from a tb42s which is much different to mine.. and as I knew mine is the bloody expensive pump?
Now I have to bloody drive back out to Patrolapart again.... fwark this shits me..wasted bloody time!!!!!
Think I may deal with someone else in future.
Transfer pump is in the auxillery tank and pumps to mains
80 series use 2 separate systems don't they ??
Can't you put the low pressure pump into the long range sender units and your high pressure pump into the other sender for the standard tank ???
Do you need me to pick something up from Patrolapart for you....I have time tomorrow
Mic
Put a zd30 in it
No I need to return some stuff to them and sort this out first hand.
I know what the problem is and if the tanks were there same size I could just use the main as the aux but I think that would give me the shits!!!!!!
This is the sender they gave me.. has a large tube and small Attachment 40520
The is the efi oneAttachment 40521
The one on the right is the one out of my long range tank and looks like it was the original unit that is cut down to sizeAttachment 40522
Attachment 40523
The wrong one looks like a TD setup..
We don't run in tank pumps as ours are on the motor..
Still can be used if you setup a transfer pump setup.
If you run both tanks to motor then you'll need 2 high pressure pumps..
Cool! Looks like a good build
Going to need help this weekend....
Sometimes though more people is a hindrances than helpful.
Also may need another jack??
I miss my baby!!!!
If you need help just yell out mate.
If you desperatly need a car, let me know too mate.
Thanks Andy. ... and thanks to all those that have offered me a car to use.
If I dont get my car on the road this weekend I may need to borrow something.
I'm working nearly all day Saturday, dunno what the missus has planned for Sunday. Keep the fridge stocked just in case I get thirsty on Sunday. Hehe. I don't have another jack too...
