New sills even!!
Got home from work and started stripping the winch and bar off of the shorty. Unfortunately my home spanners were a hand me down kit and missing half of them. The sizes I need!
So waiting for my mate to get home from work so I can use his sockets.
In the meantime I have measured up the tray, and will be pricing up the steel at various places, to hopefully start the tray on the coming weekend.
Hoping to have everything swapped over, tray built and ready to drive in a month. Then I'll be hitting the tracks hard!!
Cheers
A few more pics while I'm waiting.
The back wall
Well I have pulled the rear diffs out ready for the swap over. I'm going to need to replace bushes in the lower control arms on the ute, but oh well.
Hopefully will be able to get them both back in on Friday.
Cheers.
Both rear diffs are in now. I took a time lapse video of the shorty, but can't figure out how to upload it.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers
Spun up a body lift. Ended up going alloy using a few off its around the shed. 50mm body lift with 80mm diameter alloy, 12.5mm bolt hole. About to get some bolts and go out it in!
Cheers
Or not. Nut and bolt shop was closed, :( gotta wait till tomorrow now :(
Well, progress is slow. I've pulled both front diffs out but haven't re-installed them yet.
On the plus side I'm getting a td42ti to throw in the ute. So it should be good fun!
Cheers
Update time. Progress is slow, as I've been out of the country for a few weeks, and working flat out while I've been here.
But anyway. Still waiting to get my front diff back from my mate (he's checking the locker and putting the 4.6 centre in).
I've put the front diff back in the shorty so it can roll around (although I'm seriously thinking of Comp trucking the shorty, just for fun)
And I have a td42tisitting at work waiting to be thrown in.
Shouldn't be too much longer now!
Cheers!
